"Let's hear about this 'lord' Xerelos. Who is he? What are these other sectors? who controls them? and lastly, where did you get your powers?" Morris looked quite victorious now, an evil grin across his face, "This information will give me everything we need to find out who our competitors are..." This man gave the impression that, given the right tools, could take the city for himself. he was just as ambitious as Xerelos, maybe more.
---
Mitchell came to himself outside the facility's entrance, in a forest. "Wh-What the heck?! how'd I get out here?! I was fighting some crazy sword girl! Gah! if I'm off my post... The manager'll have my hide!" He dashed back into the facility, this time, welcomed by the guards, some of whom were recovering from Beacon's assault.
"What happened here?! I leave for a few minutes and you idoits get yourselves pounded!"
"Little girl. Beacon sir. She got inside this facility..."
"Dangit! how does that little brat get in?! where's sword girl?"
"Cell 6. aren't you supposed to be guarding there?"
"Shut up!" Mitchell snapped before sprinting towards his post.

Miroku sighed, "Lord Xerelos is quite probably the single greatest wielder of elemental magic since the Elementals themselves. He is the lord of the Southern Sector. The other sectors are named according to their direction from the Center Sector. The North Sector specializes in Light magic, and is ruled by Lady Kendris Velana. The East and West Sectors both specialize in highly advanced form of technology, ruled by Xurichner and Jad Skyseeker respectively." She paused, taking a breath, and continued. "As for my powers, I trained them. I had a natural ability for pyrokenesis, and I simply trained to make my self stronger." Miroku gave a small laugh. "Not that any of this is going to help you. Your soldiers are good, I'll give you that, but they simply lack that which makes the other Sectors so powerful. Each Sector is superior to yours in one way or another, and one day, they'll come to find out just what goes on in this big, white dome you all live in."

Morris laughed, "while we may not be able to match this 'nort' or 'south' sector, we can certainly steal from the west and east. after all, thery don't have any idea about us? but we know of them. we have surprise... heheheh."
Mitchell burst through the armored door, gun in hand. "I'm here! Was she captured?"
"Yes commander "hawkeye" mitchell. I see you're late, as always... how did you even climb the ladder so well?"
"I can shoot, manager, sir."
"Right... you're nickname entails that. Meet Miroku, our infiltrator."
"Sword girl!""

Miroku rolled her eyes, "I have a name you know. Do you call everyone you see by they're most defining physical characteristic? How about Beacon? Do you just call her 'Blue Girl'?" She turned her attention back to Morris. "I believe it's my turn for a question. How about: When are you going to let me out of here?"

Morris laughed, "My dear girl. After we brainwash you, of course!"
Mitchell was taken aback, "I've never even seen Beacon! Why would I call one of my enemies 'Blue Girl?' what part of her is blue? her skin?" then turning to Morris, "Wait, brainwash? I thought we didn't do that sir... It was classified as immoral..."
"Mitchell, you may be high-ranked in the protectorate, but there are many things you don't know..."
"I'm sure the CEO would like to hear about the other things you do too..."
"The CEO doesn't care, and despite your position, you can't change anything about my plans."
"Oh really? I can do this!" Mitchell swung his rifle around and pumped 3 shots into the machine above Miroku. the mechanical horror sputtered and died, spewing sparks.
"YOU FOOL! I'LL KILL YOU!"
"Fat chance, you'd be in trouble if you did, Morris!"
"Were you not the CEO's son, I'd have you arrested and shot!"
"but I am, so you can't." Mitchell smirked.

Miroku was furious. "Brainwash?"she said loudly, "Am I just some sort of tool to be used in your sick schemes? Even if you did let me go, did you ever consider that I have no idea how to get back outside?" Her rant was cut short by Mitchell's interference. The machine above her groaned ominously, spewing sparks all over her. Miroku took the opportunity to focus, drawing upon the inner calm Xerelos had taught her to access. Scientists hurried around her, trying to salvage the machine. "Caelum flammae ad mortuus." Miroku chanted. Electricity crackled around the machine, growing in intensity. The lights in the room began to flicker violently, and the other machines also started sparking. A strong wind picked up, whirling papers around. There was a blinding flash, and when the emergency lights came on, the table Miroku was tied to was shattered...and Miroku was gone.

Morris nearly exploded, "MITCHELL! YOU IDIOT!!! WE'VE LOST HER!!!"
"Better free than in your twisted hands..."
"The machine..."
"What machine?" Mitchell smiled and flipped his rifle onto his back, leaving the cell in cool stride.
"That... that... I'll kill him... once I get the chance, he is dead!" Morris snarled

A bolt of electricity shot out and seared a nearby wall. More joined it, each spreading out from a single point. The bolts grew in intensity until they became a light too bright to behold. As the light faded, a form could be seen. Miroku stood cautiously, the remnants of a teleport flare still crackling around her. She had left her katanas at the lab, and without any landmarks to use as a destination, she chose the strongest source of magic. Which just happened to be Beacon.
((Basically, Miroku used Beacon as, well, a beacon, and teleported to her.))

(It's a pity Beacon and Mitchell are the same...)
Mitchell jumped back, but the magical aura from the teleport overwhelmed him, leaving a bewildered Beacon in his place once more.
"Wh-what?!" she stammered, confused and afraid, "I just left this place! I went outside and... You!" she glared at Miroku, "You pulled me back in here, didn't you?!"

Miroku glanced around. She was still surrounded by cold steel walls, and ventilated air blew gently past her. "Ah crap." she muttered. She gave Beacon an annoyed look. "No, I didn't pull you back. You and that...guard...Mitchell or something...You're the same person. Any time this guy is exposed to large amounts of magic, he 'explodes' leaving you behind." She paused, hearing boot steps in the distance. "And unless we get out of here quickly, Morris is kill us."

"That's crazy. you're crazy! This Mitchell guy is somewhere else whenever I'm around. the other guys always look for him when I show up... he's beter at catching the Defenders... I think he's just another badguy..." She glared at Miroku, "and now I have to escape. AGAIN!" She ran down the green line painted on the floor.

"This should help." Miroku said, turning away. She directed her empty palm at the halway behind them. Bright blue flames erupted from her outstretched hand, coating the entire hallway. "The flames will continue to burn for another 3 hours or so." Miroku said, surveying her work. "I suggest we get moving." She started off down the green line, limping slightly.

((My its been a while. Lets see if I remember how to do this...)
Miroku followed Beacon, hurrying as quickly as her injured leg would allow. At every intersection, she would place a new set of flames to block their tracks and hinder any following guards.
