Yeah, our whole band gets along for the most part, save the odd players that don't like to participate and then we're all like 'Shuuun!!!' lol.
Though my section is definitely the most in-tune one and one of the loudest... <_< I'm a horn player and there's only one xP

This is the first I've ever heard of the whole trumpet/flute rivalry thing, and I'm trumpet section leader.
As for my input, quite frankly I'd have more respect for my flutes if the vast majority of them weren't total idiots.

Our entire band gets along pretty well with eachother, with the exception of a few people. and the drum line. only the drumline likes the drumline. but i can see why the flutes and trumpets would be at each others necks; being that the trumpets are one of the louder instruments in the band and the flutes are the softer ones.

well, im a trumpet. the flutes at my school always yell at us about being too loud. but we dont care. haha we yell back.

at my school the flutes are tight with the trumpets.accually we have "families" in the band and the trumpets adopted me tho im a flute player--we're awesome like that! xp

At my school, there seems to be more of a rivalry between the clarinets and flutes. ^^ .lol. Anyway, the answer is definitely Flutes!!! WOOT!! Flutes are way better that trumpets.

well the trumpets and flutes get along really well because we all know each other =P
in our band, whenever we play sheet music....they will be at least 1 part with the trumpets AND flutes playing the main theme....

most of my best friends are flute players and i play the trumpet. xD.

In my opinion, trumpets are much more fun and funkier than flutes.
We're louder and prouder, not to mention have more confidence in our playing. However, there's nothing wrong with flute players, in fact, they're sweet and nice people.
I get on better with trumpeters though wink

Haha since my school is extremely small, there's one flute player and one trumpet player (me). We get along fairly well but acording to her, I play too loud so I play louder! twisted

The trumpets at my school are evil. Flutes like me joke about how their antisocial because in warm-up ark they stand 5 feet away from each other, causing the flutes at the other end to smack each other in the face with their flute. [But I used to have the BIGGEST crush on a trumpet...]
