Silent Longshot
We Thank They Oh God For A Prophet, Hymn 19

1. We thank thee, O God, for a prophet
To guide us in these latter days.
We thank thee for sending the gospel
To lighten our minds with its rays.
We thank thee for every blessing
Bestowed by thy bounteous hand.
We feel it a pleasure to serve thee
And love to obey thy command.

2. When dark clouds of trouble hang o’er us
And threaten our peace to destroy,
There is hope smiling brightly before us,
And we know that deliv’rance is nigh.
We doubt not the Lord nor his goodness.
We’ve proved him in days that are past.
The wicked who fight against Zion
Will surely be smitten at last.

3. We’ll sing of his goodness and mercy.
We’ll praise him by day and by night,
Rejoice in his glorious gospel,
And bask in its life-giving light.
Thus on to eternal perfection
The honest and faithful will go,
While they who reject this glad message
Shall never such happiness know.

someone sent my mom an email and she told me. I immediately jumped on here to see if it was true. =_=
I added that video to my favorites on youtube... though it may seem alittle out of place next to my Mermaid Melody song dub and japanese matrix ping pong.

He was a great man who did many wonderful things and will be missed. heart

Let me tell you. It was quite a slap to the face. I hadn't heard about it until 9 at night when my sister's boyfriend, who is a convert who didn't even know what LDS meant when he was baptized, called and said Hinkley had died. My whole family was like, "Eh. He's probably confusing him for Foust."

But we called around and found out it was true. I remember right when my mom was like, "HE DID?" on the phone. She immediately started crying, my dad's eyebrows became his hair they went up that high and I felt like I had been punched in the gut and slapped in the face at the same time.

Didn't see that coming at all. I was unaware of his illness. At least he was with his family when it happened and now he is back with his wife.

Being the comedian that I am, the first thing that came to my mind after all the shock was, "Brother S is going to have to come up with a new Presidents of the Church song, now! How is he going to add that in?" xD

We'll miss you Hinkley!

I was in the middle of writing him a letter, so now I'll have to do it all over again for Monson, who is supposed to be next. It was personalized, ya know? Monson is a completely different person compared to Hinkley. I have to redo my whole letter after getting to know Monson a little bit more. I always liked his talks best, next to Worthlin and Eyring.
