What's the difference between a mellophone player and a trumpet player?
The mellophone will actually be in tune.

My director told us this one...even though he used to be a french horn....
How do you make a trombone sound like a french horn?
-Stick your hand in the bell and play a bunch of wrong notes.
I wasn't too happy when he told that one...

I have two kinda long ones. People have probably heard them before too.
I.
So I was listening to the classical station one day for Beethoven's 9th, my favorite song. I finally heard it, but I couldn't tell what it was until the show host said the song name. He explained that the string bases and gotten drunk before the concert and had tied the conductor's score. So here they were, at the bottom of the 9th, the bases were loaded and the score was tied.
II.
A girl went out with a trumpet player one day. this dialogue followed with her roomate:
roomate: how'd he kiss?
girl: his lips were too tight.
The next week she went out with a trombone player.
roomate: how'd he kiss?
girl: his lips were too loose.
The following week she went out with a french horn player.
roomate: how'd he kiss?
girl: his kiss was just right, but the way he held me.
and last but not least,
what's the string player's motto?
It's better to play sharp than out of tune.

my friend told me this one and i really didn't think it was that funny because i take band more seriously than her.
she said when a clarinet squeaks then that means your squeezing to hard.
i also got offended by it too but what the hell?
