At this years graduation my director added an alternate ending to our recessional song "As Winds Dance" and wouldn't tell us why he did or what it was from.
Well, the next week he told us that the director of schools in our area had decided to cancel our band program, so he found a nice little song called "Take This Job and Shove It" and had us play it while the director of schools was there at graduation(she didn't know ofcourse).
In the end, some of our band-parents and our director won back our band program and it will continue next year =]
Whats funny about this is that, the edited "As Winds Dance" was almost the last song that my band would have ever played together and the whole point of it was to smite the one who dubbed our music class as "unnecesary".

We had a song in band that became a story. In the trombone section we made the song become the story of two gay guys and how they met. Then the next song was sad so it became the story of how they both died and went to heaven. It was an awesome inside joke.

We played a song called Kitchen Can Can and the percussionists got to use a blender, garbage can lids, huge kitchen utensils, all kinds of stuff and it was a mix of all these different songs. It was awesome, but funny too.

in my band,we mixed up 3 different songs, and we had to make our own insterment for it,and as for me plaing the F-horn i for the life of me,couldent make a single insterment that went to the beat or 'hot hot hot,low rider, and cant stop the beat' so as we mixed it all up and i tryed making my insterment,i gave up and used my laptop to use the same sounds as my F-horn,i failed band but passed computers.

Brother Ray. It's a song that everyone knows, you just don't know it by the name. Haha. We danced crazy to it on stage. Haha.

The lamest song ever.... FIDGETS!!! In my 6th grade band, we played this song. It was completely hilarious, because we had to rock back and forth in a different direction, playing two notes, every 8 measures. Good times, good times. rofl

Dinosaurs, By Daniel Bukvich. There's this part where me (Bass clarinet) And the clarinets have to play this solo part while the rest of the band sings, "Yahhh wahhh blahh booo" or something like that. It's terrible. There's another part where we have to play on wine glasses, and where we all have to sing "Yah Yah Yah Yah Yah" In eighth notes, stomp our feet and clap our hands in a rythm.

"Fish N' Grits" It was also a lot of fun, but the funnest song the band didn't play, the choir played "sang" at the Christmas concert the the band behind them was looking at the program like what are these songs, "Good King Kong" and "Throw the Yule Log on, Uncle John." as if the words weren't enough, they whipped out the kazoos, and the whole band lost it. we could not keep straight faces any more. If you have never heard of Brahms long lost composer sons, i recommend You Tubing those songs.

Well, it wasn't funny just in itself because most bands play it. But, what was funny, is it was on Halloween. And the drum majors decided to dress up as Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker. Well, when our band played Imperial March, Darth Vader directed it with the mask on and everything!
But when we marched the show, he took off the mask so he wouldn't trip running across the field.

Well.. my band played Soldier Boy and our director had us learn the dance and everything. So, in the middle of the field we put our instruments down and danced. In our very unflexible uniforms... It really was hilarious, though.
