That was very generous of you sweatdrop . but I don't think that they were talking about loaning money(I could be mistaken I'm pretty tired). I think that If you gave money to someone that no matter what they did with it as long as you didn't know, you wouldn't feel bad or anything like that.

Only to point out that I gave someone money for what they said was a good reason, and they conned me. I used that as an example to show that she did the right thing.

How do you know they conned you? How do you know that he really did need the money and he just understood it as a gift an he though that he would be able to help you out when he got his check for his dads house but it wasn't there? You never really know.

the way it was put, it would be impossible for this guy to have assumed it was a 'gift'. it's clear kamakaze was conned.

Card_King1 I think that If you gave money to someone that no matter what they did with it as long as you didn't know, you wouldn't feel bad or anything like that. I'm with Card_King1 on this one. It's only money. If I can spare it, and someone needs it for whatever reason, he or she is welcome to it. I've never felt bad about giving money to anyone, but I have felt bad about not being able to.

KamikazeSkies I wouldn't have given anyone money, no matter how old they are or who they had with them. Bad experience. A man approached me once, half crying. He said his car ran out of gas and asked for a ride to the nearest gas station. He had two children with him, whom he claimed were his kids. Upon getting to the station, he said he 'just realized he had no money'. So me being the nice person I am, I gave him a $20 bill. He gladly took it, but then asked for another $20. I felt uneasy, but he said it was to feed the kids, so I hesitantly gave him the other $20. He said he would pay me back later that night. He came back, but it was him saying that it wasn't a gas problem, and the car needed repairs. I loaned him $50 that time, and he said he would come back to give me $100 on his way back from his father's house. That time, he never came. Sure, it's my fault because I was the one that fell for it, but I'm never taking that chance again. I don't care how honest the person is. So in my opinion, you did the right thing, undoubtedly. wow that sucks. don't worry he will get his. did he even have a car? yea i agree its not safe to donate to people on the streets or knocking on doors.

i definatley dont trust people with door to door excuses to take money. The other day (for the past week or so acctually) this guy has been going around saying that he was the collection guy for the 'make a wish foundation' , a bunch of local stores are selling candy bar and stuff to raise money for it . So this guy is going around and collecting boxes ,money-chocolate-andall, and running off with it, so when the real colection guy shows up , they have no money and no chocolate.
