Appointment: Part One

Adriel wasn't looking forward to this...but he had already pushed back the inevitable and he was forced to call and arrange a meeting with the facilities doctors. He had warned Duncan this time and managed to arrange it so that his lover could come with him. He wasn't sure but had a hunch that the doctor if he got the same one would be highly amused by the fact he was appearing..in the same condition as last time. At least this time he KNEW what was wrong with him.
Now was the subject of...bringing Iah or not. As his tummy got more and more swollen with child he felt like he was losing his son. He kept trying to convince Iah that...nothing was wrong but got he feeling something was off about everything. He couldn't help but be bitter at this new child...how it put a rift between him and his son. But there wasn't anything he could do about it...aside from keep trying.
"Duncan? Are we bringing Iah?" He inquired as he ...wanted to bring him but not. He was slipping on his coat finding that he couldn't zip it up anymore and was instantly annoyed.
Duncan looked in the way of the room that Iah was playing in before looking a little thoughtful, "I am sure we could call for a babysitter but..." He gave the smallest shake of his head, "I don't like the idea of bringing him, he didn't come from there and I don't want to bring him but I think leaving him behind wouldn't be a good idea." He had a feeling if they left Iah behind it might cause the little boy to worry that much more, more then a little kid should. It made Duncan think of himself and how much he worried over things when he was little and he didn't want Iah making any similar, foolish mistakes.
Adriel nodded his head trying to get his shirt to cover his stomach properly since the sudden cold snap outside meant he didn't want his belly exposed to the elements.
"Yes...I think we should bring him...for better or for worse...I am sure no one will try anything with you around love.." He stated as he turned to face Duncan offering him a smile. True this pregnancy seemed to be having a rougher time on his body. But he still looked healthy, the pleasant motherly glow about his swollen belly. Chii was still extremely protective of it...whilst Fuu reached out wanting hugs from Duncan as he approached him. Or rather waddled towards him.
Duncan reached a clawed hand out to stroke it over Fuu before giving a nod of his head, "Yeah, I won't allow any of those fools to touch you or Iah." He murmured, eyes narrowing for a moment, and one could almost hear it in his tone that he wasn't about to let anyone to close. Well aside from the Doctor he thought to himself, though that was only because he had to let that guy close. He gave Adriel a smile, "I will go and get Iah, put him in his coat, and we can be on our way." He leaned over to press one kiss to Adriel's forehead, then one to Fuu before he went to fetch their son.
Iah wasn't so much playing in his room as he had been in his room and peeking out, watching and listening in to his parents. They were going... somewhere? He wondered where... Daddy didn't seem to happy about whoever they were meeting there. He looked up at the tall, red skinned man that was his Daddy as he came to the door of his room then took a step back, "Da." He murmured, stepping closer to him, holding out his hands even as his tentacles grasped hold of the door jam in an attempt to keep Duncan from taking 'their' Iah.
Duncan rolled his eyes as he set to pulling Iah's coat onto him and much to the displeasure of the tentacles they were stuck inside the coat as it was zipped up. Iah looked down at his coat as it was beat on from the inside before giving a smile as he was scooped up and they headed back into the other room.
Adriel shifted on the spot waiting for Duncan to come back with their son. His hand went to his stomach to lay against it feeling the small being shift inside of him he shivered and then half turned to see Duncan emerge with Iah in tow. He smiled at his son, wanting to hold him but he was in no condition to be holding a child who's flailing limbs could strike his stomach.
"We best be going then...I don't want them to start looking for us instead..." He murmured as he blew Iah and Duncan kisses before he went to open then door of their apartment.

Adriel peered up at the facility gates when they arrived, a part of him recalled the last time they had been here, and that was when iah had been born. He felt himself pale at the memory, it had been so painful...so...very ...he guessed violent was the right word. He recalled the bruises he had received due to Iah's tentacles wanting to come out. He quivered a bit his hand going to his belly where the baby shifted as if on que. He looked to Duncan...feeling a bit light headed from the memory and went to lean against his lovers arm.
He didn't trust he could walk at the moment...but he caught sight of the doctor on the other side and winced...it was..the same one..oh gods how was he suppose to face him? OH hello! Havn't seen you since i had my last baby but here I am again expecting....
Aden was mid way through taking a drag off of his cigarette when he heard the approach of feet, he turned to look at the gate and he couldn't help but to grin as he found himself looking over the family that stood there. Now this, this was interesting he thought to himself as he blew out the smoke and dropped the item to the ground, stomping it out, "Welcome back Adriel." He greeted the spawn as he dug into his pocket to get out his keys and open the gave up for the three of them, technically more since Adriel was carrying again, though.
Duncan looked the doctor over as though sizing him up before merely gave a nod, certain that he could break him in half if the need arose.
Aden chuckled at the rather quiet, red skinned man that seemed to be looking him over as though he were planning on breaking him in half, "You must be Duncan and this..." He looked at Iah and gave a smile, "Amazing, so this is your first child then?" He nodded. This was quite interesting to behold, a second generation spawn. This boy was proof that what Vampy was doing here in the Labs was a success since they were able to reproduce on their out without help from the Labs. Truly amazing.
Adriel nodded his head and he didn't like how Aden was looking at his son. Finding himself bristling he tried to calm down he was glad he had brought Duncan this time.
"Yes....this is Iah. Iah this is..Dr...?" He asked trying to recal the mans name but failing. Chii if she could hiss didn't seem to happy about the doctor's presence at all. Fuu gave a wave in hello, and Adriel wished it wasn't so friendly.
His hand went to his stomach nervously, "Yes well...let's just say we were both surprised...at me having to come back..." He stated sounding a bit ...cross about the whole ordeal. He wondered if he could find Luthor while here.
Aden gave a mock pout as he realized that Adriel didn't remember his name, then again he didn't have charts on Aden as Aden had charts on all of the spawn... well all of them but this little one and the other one that he'd only heard a little about called Adelle. He gave a smile, "Aden Boggs." He said, introducing himself again, "I am wounded that someone as cute as you doesn't recall."
Duncan gave a low growl in his throat as he heard the Doctor say such a thing to 'his' Adriel, finding the desire to pummel him growing.
"Relax, Duncan. I am not picking favorites I assure you. In fact your quite attractive as well." He gave a wink before turning and started toward the entrance to the Labs, "Come on, the sooner we get the tests done the sooner you guys can head home where I am sure its far warmer." In more ways then one.
The wrath spawn watched the doctor, a little thrown off at someone flirting with him other then Adriel given he didn't see himself as all that attractive given all his scars. He shook his head, gave another growl, then started forward alongside Adriel.
Iah merely starred at the Doctor, to young to know what he was talking about but found that he liked the way the man smiled. He seemed very happy! And those things on his face looked interesting, he wanted to see them...
Adriel wasn't sure why but his face blushed a bit in embarrassment at the comment though it was gone nearly as quickly as if appeared as the guy flirted with Duncan. What...the...he found himself holding onto Duncan rather possessively not liking that the doctor was flirting. Less so that...he couldn't place it. All he knew was that he didn't like it.
"Yes...Boggs..." He muttered after a moment, "I am figuring you can guess why I am back here..." He stated after they had walked into the grounds. The baby gave a sharp kick as if not liking to be considered a burden.
Aden nodded, "Yes it is quite obvious this time around since we know what your capable of." He said, opening the door and stepped back to allow them to go in first before he followed, "As such I have everything set up and waiting, it will be easier this time around for us to get through your appointment since we know what your dealing with." He said, he was excited, curious to see what the new baby might look like given what the first child looked like and what the Father looked like. A very impressive family he thought as he led the way to the hospital wing, "Duncan, Iah, if you would like to take a seat on that Cot and Adriel on this one we can start the tests." He said, settling into his wheel chaired and rolled it over to where he had everything set up and awaiting Adriel.
Duncan seemed for a moment unsure before nodding and walked in that direction, the Doctor threw him a little as well as annoyed him but he didn't feel dangerous... that was a good sign. He sat down on the cot and set Iah next to him before he unzipped the boy's coat to let he tentacles out which in turn quickly smacked Duncan to get back at him for locking them up like that.
Adriel didn't like being separated from his family, he felt nervous and he couldn't really figure out why. He guessed it could be, because he KNEW what was wrong with him this time around...he went to peel off his coat still tugging his shirt down as if embarrassed by how big he was already. Moving he went to sit on the table awkwardly Chii moving to guard his belly whilst Fuu waved to Iah as if it missed him greatly. He knew he should lift his shirt...but..couldn't bring himself to.
"Uh...this wasn't a planned thing.." he murmured to the doctor honestly, "I didn't think i'd be able to have more after Iah..."

Appointment: Part Two

Aden did his best to keep from laughing, "Is that so?" He asked, "Well since you had one you should have guessed you could have another." He told him, feeling as though he were dealing with a teenage girl due to Adriel's strange ideas how pregnancy worked, "First off, how is this pregnancy going? Are you eating well? Able to keep your food down?" He asked as he picked up a chart that had Adriel's information on it and his pen.
Adriel felt uncomfortable his face flushing, "No...actually given the circumstances...I didn't think I could...but.." he trailed off not wanting to break his promise to Luthor and clamped his mouth shut.
"Anyway...sorta...not as sick, but my hormones are all over the place...my back is killing me...I seem to be...a lot more.." He flashed a look to Duncan and shifted uncomfortable again. "Grumpy..."
He nodded as he took down the answers, "I see, every pregnancy is different as I am sure you have noticed. Given as far along as you look I would suggest doing all you can to stay off of your feet, it will help with your back. As for the mood swings, those are normal as well. I am sure your lover understands?" He glanced over at Duncan and got a death glare that he assumed meant the other did understand. He found himself turning back to Adriel quickly. He took down a couple more notes then motioned to him, "Your ready we can take a look, see how your baby is looking and attempt to see the gender, I remember your last one was quite shy about letting anyone know what he was at the time.
Adriel licked his lips and then glanced at Duncan and Iah, after a moment he nodded his head and then went to shift and lay on the table. He didn't like it...it reminded him too much of Iah's birth...he felt himself trembling.
"Uh...Dr. Boggs...is there anything I should do...for this...birth? To prepare for it? I...I don't want a repeat of last time..." He murmured softly voicing his fear of something trying to beat him up from the inside out. When he was sure the doctor was ready he lifted his shirt Chii was instantly there like a snake protecting its den of eggs ...it wasn't going to let Aden near his stomach.
"Chii..." Adriel groaned reaching up to try and pull the tentacle away...it didn't seem to want to go willingly as it dodged his grasp over and over. Fuu merely watched on.
"Duncan..." Adriel whimpered getting tired out and frustrated too quickly for this game.
Duncan pushed to his feet, looking down at Iah, "Stay."He said simply before walking over to Adriel, moving to the side of him where Chii was located before he reached a hand out slowly and when he had the chance he caught hold of the tentacle, "You need to calm down, Chii. The sooner the Doctor gets this done the sooner we leave." He told it, holding the limb in a firm if careful grip.
Aden watched quietly before giving a smile, "Good, good. If you hold that we won't have to worry about giving it a sedative." He said as he helped Adriel to lift his shirt, something that annoyed Duncan greatly, before he set to spreading the gel over it, "The best I can offer is perhaps when you get close to your due date to make an appointment for the child's birth instead of first waiting for it to decide that its time to leave your stomach. Human women often do this, for them its called inducing." He explained, turning on the screen to the ultrasound machine.
Adriel shivered and nodded his head, when he wanted it...rather thank letting the baby decide. Made sense though the feeling of the gel on his stomach and the fingers caressing it made him flush a bit.
Dammit...stupid being horny. Swallowing he lifted a hand to lay in on whatever part of Duncan was the closest to him. He hated this...he wanted to do so many things to Duncan...and couldn't.
"Yes...I'll keep that in mind.." he murmured trying to calm himself down and hoping...HOPING that he didn't have a hard on right this second. He looked away from Aden trying to concentrate mostly on Duncan and his son. And whomever was the little ...surprise in his belly.
Iah watched his parents and the doctor for a moment before he slid down off of the cot he'd been left on to start to circle the area around him, finding it to be interesting since it was so different from home. There were far more beds in this one room then he'd ever seen before. He was having fun with is explorations, leaving his parents to do... whatever it was exactly that they were doing. Whatever it was, it looked odd...
"Let us see how far along the baby is then we can determine when we want to set up an appointment for that if its the route you wish to take." He said, pressing the device to his belly that allowed them to see the child on the screen. He moved it slowly along then gave a smile, "There we go."
Duncan turned quickly to look at the screen and all of his eyes got a little wide as he saw the child, in grey scale, there on the screen and he couldn't help but to smile a bit.
A part of Adriel didn't want to see it, but he found himself looking anyway out of morbid curiosity. It felt weird that device on his belly the fact it could project images of their unborn onto the screen. Wow...it looked so different from Iah.
"Is...that...?" He hoped it was a tentacle...otherwise life could be rather awkward for their new child.
Aden moved the device slowly back and forth, "Hrm... looks like this one only has one of the tentacle limbs." He said, finding that to be interesting to him since the 'Mother' and first child had two. He searched a moment more then looked between Duncan and Adriel, "Do you wish to know the gender of the baby?" He asked curiously, wondering if they would want to know or keep it a surprise like last time... not that it was exactly their choice last time.
Adriel looked to Duncan his gaze flickering to where Iah had managed to totter about the room,
"What...do you want Duncan?" He inquired cause knowing the gender would be useful...see if they needed to get new clothes or could use hand me downs.
"Iah? Do you want to know if your getting a brother or sister?" He inquired wanting his son to at least ...be involved some way .
Duncan gave a shrug, "Either way." He murmured, not minding if they knew or not though it could be a useful thing to know so they knew what to expect. He found himself following Adriel's gaze over to where Iah was, not on the cot where he'd been told to stay... something that caused Duncan a little worry as he didn't want the boy wandering to far as he'd be in possible danger. He just wanted him to be nearby and safe...
Iah looked over at his parents, looking thoughtful, then shrugged, "Have a sister." He said, debating if he wanted another sister... if they did have a girl he would be the only boy, that would be nice he thought, it would make him special, "Mmm... yes, nother sister." He finally said before he went back to his wanderings.
Aden looked a bit curious about the first sister that Iah was talking about.
Adriel felt his face flush at Iah's rather blunt statement but he nodded his head, now worried that they would disappoint Iah and end up with a boy instead.
"Ah...long story," He responded to Aden really wanting to pull his shirt down.
"I guess we want to know...is it a he or she?" He inquired finally trying to be brave and brace himself for the inevitable.
Aden looked between the three for a moment, a little curious but at the way that Adriel stated it was a long story he decided to leave well enough alone, "Well, I am almost positive that it is in fact a little girl. Aside from the gender and the one tentacle though I don't see anything else noteworthy." He said, no rib structures like the Father had, and she would be far to young to show signs of horns yet so if they were possible for the future he couldn't tell yet.
Adriel blinked a bit relief flooding through him. A girl? Oh thank goodness....Iah would be happy at least.
"Oh...that's good then." he replied with a sigh happy that at least their new child wasn't ...full of claws and spikes or bones on the outside... He looked to Duncan all of a sudden feeling much better about the whole pregnancy than before.
"Hear that Iah? Your getting a little sister." He called out as he waited for Aden to wipe the gel off so he could put his shirt back on.
"Can you tell how far along I am? When do you think I should call back?"
Iah glanced over at his Mommy for a moment, giving a nod and a smile before he crawled up onto one of the cots to bounce across it before he seemed to be trying to determine if he could jump from this one to the next one.
"Let's see... if I had to guess by how quickly these things go for you kind I would say you have about two weeks left." He told Adriel, giving him a smile, "We we should set up a date soon for when you want to come back and have your baby." He said, giving a smile.
Adriel shivered and nodded his head, it still...felt strange hearing someone say that. He sat up pulling his shirt down to cover his exposed belly. By next week he figured he probably wouldn't want to move anymore. He'll have to make sure food and comforts would be close at hand.
He went to stand up, staggering a bit as the weight settled back onto his hips, "Ah...you will hear from us...closer to the date then..." he murmured with a nod.
Aden nodded his head as he set the hand held part of the device aside and smiled, "Alright, once I get your call we can arrange a date and your little daughter will be ready to come into the world." He said as he got up to his feet, stepping back so that Chii would be allowed to be freed again. He glanced over at Duncan for a moment then to the first of the spawn that they had together, he was eager to see the new baby to see what their DNA created the second time it was mixed.
Duncan gave Chii a pat before he released the limb before he held a hand out to Adriel to offer him help up to his feet. He was eager to be going now that it seemed things were wrapping up.
Adriel took Duncan's hand happy to have a hold on it. He went to stand fairly close to his lover Chii having been released finally gave Duncan a rather hard smack before going back to protecting Ad's belly. Fuu seemed to be reaching out for Iah cause it didn't like where the child was at the moment.
Duncan gave a slight wince then chuckled, knowing that he deserved that for keeping Chii back away from its 'job' for so long, even allowing Aden to go about his job. He looked over to Fuu next, watching that limb in a very close manner. It was reaching out for Iah but he wasn't sure if he wanted the tentacle to get to close to Iah at the moment, not when Fuu's twin seemed to be a bit to volatile. While he could take a hit he didn't think that Iah could, "I will get him Fuu." He assured the kinder of the two purple tentacles, giving it a gentle petting before he walked over to where Iah was.
The boy was still judging the distance, walking back and forth along the cot, debating but not quite able to get himself to try to make the jump and before he could his Father had reached his side. Duncan was then zipping up his coat to once more catch the red tentacles inside before he scooped the boy up.
Aden watched the family before giving a smile, "It was nice to see you again Adriel, take care of yourself and your little girl. And it was very nice to meet the two of you Duncan, Iah. Really a beautiful family." He said as he picked up the chart to take down a couple more notes before he walked over to place it on his desk for safe keeping.
Fuu looked....sad. It wilted a bit that it couldn't hold onto or touch Iah and retreated back to Adriel's side in a defeated manner. Adriel could sympathize, he hadn't gotten to hold his son in a while...and it was starting to get depressing.
"Yeah...see you soon..." He stated absently as he clung to Duncan's side when he got back with Iah in tow. He was more than ready to go, then he could be home and be comfortable.
Duncan slid the arm that didn't hold Iah around Adriel in a careful and protective manner before he led the way out of the hospital wing and toward the door they had come through, "Once we get home you can rest and I will see about getting dinner prepared for us." He said, wanting to allow his lover to rest more if he wanted and needed to. The Doctor had made it out to be very important and he wanted to be able to help out where he could. Given he had the day off now was as good a time as any to start to do just that.
