Neither, it's just a glass of water. It would be drunk by someone sooner or later.

I say that this glass has chocolate milk in it, and I will drink it.

I'm a glass half-full person. I say that the petrol tank is a quarter full when I'm running out.

the IRS stole the water from me for tax purposes.
Then the CIA took me away on the basis of potential terrorism, because I looked suspicious sitting there with an empty glass.
I ended up in Guantanamo, where they refused to give me water or anything for months.
by the time I left, I had terrorist connections for real, and used them to gain all the water I wished to have for awhile before being sent to suicide bomb someone elses glass of water.
and... um.... they lived happily ever after? LOL

This depends on many things such as: Is the glass in a vacuum? Is the glass filled with Medicine or something equally icky? Is the glass filled with Sprite or something equally yummy? Is the glass filled with gasoline or something equally flammable? Is the glass broken?

It's just a glass of water. No matter how one views it, it won't change the fact that it's just a glass with half the amount of a full glass of water in it. Life goes on, no matter your point of view. You can just choose to go through it happily, or go through it dreading imaginary "bad things". You can make things better for yourself, or ruin your one shot completely. It all depends on the person.

The receptacle is what it contains, to me, regardless of amount. If a pitcher contains even just a small amount of water, you say "Pass the water".
