R!SS I read it out of sheer curiosity and I actually found that I didn't mind it.
I mean, the prose used is pretty simple, Bella and Edward's relationship is unrealistic and the plot is predictable, but cute.
It's a sweet little read, though >w<
And it's already provoked an interest in reading that would have slept dormant in some people. So that's one good thing that's come out of the popularity~
I shall... stop ranting. Aha xD This post is advertizment????

Tomoko Tama Okay, so have you guys heard of a book called 'Twilight'? It's really popular where I live, and it's my best friend's FAVORITE book. She got it for me for Christmas, and I still can't see what's so great about it. I haven't read very far, but I can tell where it's going and I have a slight fear that it might break my brain burning_eyes Today, my friend asked me if I could read the SECOND book too. Can someone please explain why this book has hypnotized so many innocent souls? Honestly, I think it comes down to a few different things.
1. Hot vampire man. Nuff said. 2. Very corny. We all know exactly what will happen and that makes the book enjoyable to read - it's nice to know it will be a happy ending. 3. The second book adds (no surprise) a hot werewolf man who competes with hot vampire man for completely average, clutzy, human chick's affection. 4. Completely normal, average, human chick is so normal and average that every girl can imagine herself in this girl's shoes. Thus, hot vampire man and hot werewolf man are within reach while you are delved into this book. 5. Emo. Every vampire in the book has the most depressing past imaginable, making this book enjoyable for all those emo-types! (No offense, I just use emo as a descriptive term for humorous purposes!)
Anyway, the entire book series is dumb. I don't like it.
However, I like it at the same time, because of reason #2.
On a short side note, Bella (the main gal character) has received quite a bit of criticism for being such a conventional "damsel in distress". Even though it is a very popular book (and now a very popular movie), it does not have the best reviews around.
