The freezing winds provide a satisfying blanket of sound as Kages body shifts back to its original form, his skin soon returning to its pale hue, and his eyes fade to its normal deathly black shade.
"Traveling through the shadowlands has never been pleasant." he mutters, shifting beneath his cloak.
"Those footprints lead down to the river....perhaps there maybe something of interest down below. Let's make haste, this weather will soon cover this trail if we don't hurry."

Kira looks around and then down at where you're pointing, "oh hey..you're right but look at this."
She walks over to where the tracks are at and kneels down, running her hand over them.
"This pair looks like a human, which we'll assume is Ayumi-senpai's but this.."
She runs her hand over a second pair of tracks that are slightly intersecting the others.
"These tracks are also here and smaller and looks 4-legged and not human. Could she have been..chasing it?"

"Ayumi-sensei could have been chasing...an animal? Could she have summoned a dog to follow someone's scent?" he ponders, crouching beside Kira with increasing curiosity. Hoping to get some sort of idea, he toys with his shadow, filling in the tracks of the four-legged thingy...
"The more I think about this, the more bothered I become." Kage looks to the distance, clenching his fist in growing frustration.
"Let's get going, these tracks are our only lead and I don't wish for the weather to erase them."

Kira nods her head in agreement, pulling her heavy coat's hood over her head as the wind kicks up. You both make your way down to the stream where the footprints come to an end.
Kira starts walking up and down the shore yelling at you, "I'll check down this way..maybe she was walking across this stream and took to the other side further down or something."
As you look into the water, you think you see something under the frozen water...stir, but only for a moment.

"Don't wander too far off, this blizzard provides the perfect cover for an ambush were we to be separated." He yells back, keeping his hand steadily by the hilt of his sword. Taking the path opposite of Kira, Kage draws his attention towards the frozen stream, expecting something to dwell within its frigid depths.
What he thinks to be movement underwater is enough to pique his attention. He draws his massive sword, rotating it in the air and gathering strength for what one would hope to be an ice shattering attack.
"Kira, I might have found something!"

Kira calls back "Yeah, yeah... you're awefully bossy today Kage." As she starts to walk across the icy surface, glancing along the shoreline for any signs of a footprint.
As you lift your sword up and call out to her again, Kira turns around and her eyes grow big from behind her sunglasses. "W-wa-waitamin!!!" She exclaims but too late.
~BOOM~
There is an explosion from underneath the water the throws you back onto the southern shore. You think you hear Kira screaming as well as she is tossed onto the northern shore.

Oh sh-
The explosion easily throws him away from the stream, his defenseless body crashing painfully into the powdered earth a dozen feet away from where he once stood. His sword soon joined his side, sheathing itself within the snow just within arms reach.
A pained gasp is the only sign of life as oxygen escapes from the vestiges of his lungs. His hearing is cursed with an insistent ringing as he finally comes to, slowly regaining some form of awareness of his surroundings.
Kira...
Drawing on his reserves of strength, Kage staggers to his feet, drawing his sword from the earth. Everything around him seems diffused at first, but as the ringing in his ears fades away his vision becomes more pronounced, and he is not expecting to like what he sees.
"K....Kira..?"

"So you're still alive, my aim is getting rusty" A figure says from within the fountain of water that is still exploding through the hole in the frozen river.  The shinobi looks at you with his arms crossed. "This one won't be bothering us, Kaede." You hear a second, female voice call out from the other side of the river.  She is knelt next to Kira with her hand on the base of her neck.

((sorry for the lack of postage, I had to get my computer repaired and the 2 week wait was brutal... xp ))
Get away from Kira!
His thoughts aren't reflected by the grimace that Kage wears, tightening his grasp on the hilt of his blade as he speaks, "You won't get a second chance to test your aim." the probability of him actually intimidating the ninja is low, due to the fact that he just got rocked by an explosion just moments ago but a threat or two might rattle the cage alittle. Still his thoughts are conflicted as he strategizes what to do next, attack with his bloodline activated? Or deactivate it and go all-out with sword in hand? Decisions, decisions...
"Another shinobi from the Forbidden Shadow has been here...where is she?"

The male shinobi puts his blade in a defensive posture. "You've got a lot of nerve demanding things from us after your comrade destroyed out village."
The girl lifts Kira's head a bit so she can press the blade closer to her neck. "Now drop your weapon." You hear Kira whimper but catch something glint in her right hand briefly.

"You serve the Warlord I take it? It's a pity Ayumi didn't kill you her self. Now you have me to deal with." he says, keeping his sword low beside his hip as he notices something in his teammates hand.
"This is your last chance to throw down your weapons, otherwise I make no promises that you shall leave alive."

~FWOOOOOSH~
There is a bright flash of light followed by a giant cloud of smoke where the enemy and Kira are at. You hear one of them cry out within the clouds, which causes Kaede to turn his attention from you towards the cloud of smoke, "Kirana!"

NOW!!!
This being the distraction he needed, Kage clears the distance between himself and his target with a single leap. Once within range he swings his blade upward in what would easily be considered a lethal strike.
