get your own pair of mallets. they come in handy.
Their expensive but you will really need them.
Mallets aren't that expensive.
The instruments, yes.
Maybe like, $10 bucks for some mallets? Not as bad as having the $2,000 vibraphone's tubes keep falling out (at the school...)...X_X
Drum sticks yes but atcual mallets, like marimba or timpani are expencive. Timpani are $30 cheep.
Oh, well, yeah.
Yarn mallets or felt mallets always cost more 'cause they have to use more material.
Well heres a good way to save your money if you want to learn all of the perc instruments. (timp included) there are a special kind of sticls that you can buy for around$35~$40 But if they break its no problem cuz viola! there is a steel rod on the inside. You can snap on new coverings (like mallets or drum sticks or whatever) that cost around 5 to 8 bucks each.
