Kani Dectsani
You know as well as many of the GiB members do that the plot-line hasn't been updated in a while. Many people thought that Santa Cow would make a reintroduction for another update, but that didn't happen.

I was thinking a little bit about everything that happened. How the portal/Star-Gate looking thing was left behind, a portal from our world to theirs, or at least we think. A thought, for some reason, popped into my head. The MMORPG is about the animals on Gaia suddenly turning evil and attacking people. The main goal of the RPG is to find the reason for this, and destroy/fix it, using mysterious rings found around Gaia.

The Connections: The portal is on the Gaia map. The Gaia map is being used for the MMORPG. The portal, therefore, would be in the RPG. What would happen if the problem about the animals wasn't on Gaia, but on the Zurg home world? The portal would have a use then, and a plot-line would be born.

Some people may have thought of this, but I really couldn't find anything in the archives or the current threads running in the guild. I also, regretfully, haven't been too active in the guild, so me posting in the guild would feel slightly weird for me. I thought that you might take this information, if it's new and useful, and give it to the right people for more investigation.

~Kani, over and out.

These are not my words, obviously, but I promised I would bring this up. Kani makes valid points. Shall we discuss?

It seems interesting, though I'm not sure they'll introduce planet Zurg in Gaia Battle for a while (I can only imagine how difficult it must be to code and make all those areas xP)

It would make a good explanation for the birth of the Animated, and a good way to link the MMO with Gaia's storyline.

This is actually quite an old theory which has been flying around Gaia Battle related areas for a while now and I strongly believe it, in fact we already have some evidence for this (one of the monster descriptions explains how that alien came from through the portal to invade Gaia but are lacking in the ability to do so due to their size).

Santa Cow however, has nothing to do with the MMO as far as I can see (and hope) it just seems like a badly done afterthought on Gaia's behalf. Shucks really.

I'm not sure about this whole 'all the monsters turn evil' theory but it could work with a decent storyline. Oh wait, Gaia seems to be failing in that area at the moment! gonk

Also as interesting as going to the Zurg world may be, I doubt we'll be able to travel there or at least not do so straight away. Perhaps as a bonus area, or a quest unlockable?

There is a small problem with the theory and it is a pretty simple one. There won't be any end to the Battle System. An introductory story is one thing, but there won't be any way to "fix/destroy" it, or as a consequence, Gaia completely limits the Battle System to a story based game (no matter how open it may be) and that would destroy its replayability.
So, no it will probably be more quest based like the traditional MMO's.

That's a good idea. The quest thing, I mean. I might be a good quest!

And I was thinking that it might also be like Dofus, in which the goal of the game is to gain all of the Dofus eggs, but it's still playable after that. Maybe the source of the problem would be destroyed in the quest, but the residual effects were still there, meaning that monsters are still around.

I'll need to spy on the Battle Forum to check for more ideas. Maybe that'll give more incite.
