well I keep redoing Lena's face-up, I'm never quite satisfied with it.... and Ash's is starting to bug me... the color of his eyebrows and the shape of them... but I think I'm going to have his professionally done by someone... I dunno who yet...

Key still has his Luts faceup. When I buy Donovan (Elf Yder) I'm going to send the vampire head (oh PLEASE come with a vampire head!) to my friend and she's going to do the faceup, and I may practice on the elf head for my own... or I'll just sell it.
I'm currently in complete love with Cirque du Soleil's Varekai and it dawned on me that I may be able to do a faceup like Icarus despite the fact that I have no artistic talent. I may try that.

i just got a great person on DoA to do a practice faceup for my PM LF Ami. i wanted her to look more like the default pictures...she did a fantastic job ^o^/ her username is honeyedbiscuit and i recommend her highly ^^

I used to be TERRIFIED of doing faceups, but after someone replaced his original faceup I figured what the hell I may as well try it *because she didn't know how to do eyelashes* So Yeah...I bought come watercolor pencils, some pastels, and I gave it a shot. Attempt 1 was good but I sprayed too much gunk on and it all ran haha....attempt 2 was not so good but was good enough for now kinda thing. Attempt 3 was the one I just did and now I'm hecka proud of it haha. I think its fun to do your own faceups because it puts more of you into your baby <3

Since I can't afford to pay for one, I had to do it myself with whatever we had on hand at the time.
I'm actually pleased with how the face turned out considering that I was painting on a doll head that was only about 4cm by 3cm.
It would have been a ton easier if she were larger! 3nodding
Edit:
I now have a Haruka head from Obitsu and it is really easy to do the face-up now! I might post some pics later in case anyone is interested in seeing it. 3nodding

I've just commissioned a friend for Freyja's eyes because I want something very special.

Your dolls are beautiful, Alexiel! I've always loved Estella, those lips... *_*
I'm having my Narae's faceup done by a Korean artist who works for Narin Creative. Since she's my first doll, I'd like to have her come home with a pretty face. ^^;; I'll do any additional work (mani/pedi, body blushing) myself.

I stuck with Ro's default faceup until the Texas heat made his beautiful glossy lips melt. >_< So then I patched up the lips and darkened and thickened his eyebrows. I also added a spattering of freckles.

I prefer to do my dolls own face-ups because it makes you that much more attached to your doll and can mend just about any relationship (like wether you are iffy about keeping a certain purchased doll, you aren't connecting, etc...). I just finished my third and I am so proud of it and I doubt that I'll change it again anytime soon.

Right now, I plan on getting most from the company..since the ones I have in mind right now are all Volks FCS and I can essentially design it myself, but don't need any talent razz But I did change the lips on my boy, they didn't paint his teeth for some reason so I had him sent away to get that fixed..but then the paint melted thanks to the heat so eventually I'll have to get them fixed again >.<

I usually paint my dolls and my girlfriends', but I'm aware I'm not particularly good and we happen to be friends with Nanyalin and Gali, both great customizers, and more or less Gali trains on our girls. We are the lucky ones.
But even if I couldn't rely on Gali I'd rather paint them myself. I don't like company made face ups, they look too similar to each other and some companies do really poor face ups (coughvolksstandardmodelscough)

i want to try a face up but i dont want to take off any of my doll's face ups. i cant really find a head that is sold by its self that i like. but my FCS girl came out not to my liking and i'm getting her semi-redone. i think the owner of Blast Milk is going to do it ^.^
