Beloved Werewolf

Swax shrugged her shoulders lightly at the idea. "I dunno, we'll have to find out." she agreed. While 'magic' was a way to put things, she wasn't about to mention her mother being a witch, of all insanity, and her grandfather being a -werewolf-. That would have rendered her with further investigation.

Swax looked at the deer with a bit of a curious look, before shrugging. "Hmm. Seems I've distracted you from the 'important' part of that little deer-experiment, hmm?" she chimed, shifting a bit and wrapping her tails around her cooling little toes.

Snow was such a miserable thing.

The moment of silence would have been considered awkward if it weren't for the fact that, frankly, she was used to sudden silence; she blamed the moon for that one, before slightly jumping at the sudden cackle, turning her attention back to Jabril. "Mm. Perhaps I would.." she mused, mulling the concept back and forth in her mind, before waving a paw at him, "except I'm not so sure I trust a nameless stranger with my genetic material. While it could be -hilarious- to have sudden mutatedly insane amounts of miniatures of myself running around without my knowing, I don't think I'd like to have to explain that to my mother."

She then initiated a fake conversation with herself, taking a higher pitch of voice and talking to some invisible being nobody could hear; "Why yes mother, I do believe I have an explanation for what this infestation is: When I ran off to investigate a loud noise instead of practicing with the horrid piece of magic-wood that really has nothing to do with the practicality of the world, I came across a strange boy and I gave him my genetic material and he made babies outta it!"

This was followed by a cough, hack, and a wheeze, before she motioned back to Jabril. "No no, wouldn't work out all the well for me in the slightest. I personally would find it charming, and my father wouldn't care as long as they left him alone, just like he wished my siblings and I would.... though he did seem to like my curiousity and steps into science well enough, Bless that old man, I would prefer to not have to say that to my mother or, for the love of Einstein," yes, Einstein. She was, by no means, religious in the least and his name made for a better 'fake curse', "my brothers." she suddenly rolled her eyes in a fakely melodramatic way, before flumping onto her back and looking up at Jabril. "... I'm kidding, you can have a free-fest at a sample, just warn me what you're taking, and for the most part, I'd prefer external samples for now. Internal samples could be looked into later."

The conspiring tone caused Swax to roll over and give Jabril a bit of an 'ooooooo' look, before she made a bit of a pouting face. "Hn. We'd have to look into one of the weensy-ones." she noted, before holding up her paws to estimate the height of just how 'weensy' these 'weensy' ones were. "Dusks. Easiest to run off with, and I know of one or two hangin' in my own general romping grounds."

"Oh, aye, m'desperate fer yuir eggs, seein' as we jus' met." Jabril smirked, sarcastically. The scientist decided not to mention that he wouldn't exactly need permission to take external samples from Swax. Kitsu shed hair. It was a fact of life for any fur-bearing creature. He kept all of his acquaintances on file, in case they decided to pull some wee shenanigans at his lab, and he had to test for DNA.

"Precious as feedin' a whole brood fer nae reason would be, I'll try t'keep hold of me'self an me animal reproductive lust."

He padded over to the deer, and resumed work on its chest. He'd already pried back the ribs, so it would be easy to attach the device he was using, even without thumbs.

"M' a ha-breed m'self, ye know. Does'nae do any good fer testin'." He mentioned offhandedly, as he squelched the deer's heart around in his paws. "I done enough on m'own person t'know."

Jabril wondered if he could trick the femme into cutting herself so he could see if she truly did bleed. Best not to risk putting her off. It was rare enough to find someone with a proper spirit of inquiry on this bloody mountain, and it was- pleasant, to have a conversation about it where he didn't have to put up with tediously judgmental stares. He didn't want to jinx it.

Swax rolled her eyes a bit. "That was a 'HINTHINT' at possibly getting your name, y'know." she pointed out, bumping her shoulder to his for a moment, before shrugging a bit and sitting back in the snow to allow the stranger to work. "And I said nothin' about m'eggs, was simply cracking a science-fiction 'cloning from a single incomplete in terms of DNA strands' joke." she added.

The sarcasm got a bit of a face from Swax, who then decided to add: "Not to mention a whole brood of one-eighth werewolf spawn, one-fourth berserker-heartless wouldn't be that big of a -joy-." she laughed offhandedly.

Really, just that mix alone left her to believe that, well, that's why she didn't plan to reproduce in the least. At least, not unless it was for one of her fun little twisted experiments.

Like the science of two male's genetics converging in a female's body to create male-male spawn. It was truely curious to her. Hmm, hmm, hmm.

The comment of him being a halfbreed received a rather cold chuckle from Swax, whom shrugged lightly. "Halfbreed? I'm hardly half-and-half. One forth sorceress.." she gagged a bit and tousled at the curly hair on her chest, "I leave this to my dear ol' grandmum, mixed with a bit of witching blood, a tasteless thing to be, if you ask me. Blame dear ol' grandaddy and mum for that, plus a touch of werewolf, and a dash of nobody."

She suddenly paused a bit and crinkled her nose.

"I do beg to know -how- I happened."

"How is t'easy part, d'ye nae think?" Jabril teased her once more, with a wink and a knowing grin. Getting a rise out of Swax was surprisingly amusing. When her hackles rose she got even fluffier.

Would it be safe to give her his name? He was meeting more and more Kitsu, as time went on. And it wasn't as though she knew the location of his laboratory yet. Perhaps if she did, she'd try some of that weaponized ebola gas on him. Might be amusing to see if he could cure himself in time.

"Jabril Acajou at, yuir service. Son o' Sigourney th' Luck Dragon, an' Everard th' Expirimint."

And why kitsu must make such a fuss about him wanting to experiment on them, he did not know. If it was good enough for his father, shouldn't it be good enough for everyone else?

He tapped a switch on the small metal devise he'd installed in the deer, and its heart puffed up like a little red balloon. Jabril happily perked his ears up.

"Ah - now would ye look at tha! Keep th' brain an' th' heart goin', I wager ye could create an undead."

Swax made a bit of a face. "I don't me -how-, how. I mean like.. " she paused for a word.. "did it get to that -phase-. All the rest of the genetics is obvious." she added, swatting a paw at him, before scooting over to watch, seeming quite interested in what he was doing, until he gave her his name.

FINALLY she thought to herself, before smirking. "Hmm. No last name here, and my parents are... well. Parents. Mom is a mom to us even though we weren't planned, and dad... well, he's around now and then." she commented, adding more to the 'how we happened' thought as she'd meant it, before allowing herself to get absorbed back into the little pace-maker bit.

Perking a bit as the animal flared to 'life', she suddenly made a bit of a face at the mention of keeping the heart going to create the undead. "What does that make -me- then? My heart never existed, nor is it..." she held up both her paws to do the best 'quotation' signs she could muster by folding her toes, "'goin-" she suddenly cut off as she lost her balance and suddenly toppled over into the snow, before suddenly popping up again, coughing into her paw once, then repeating "'going'."

"Mum ha'-way built me Da herself. I think tha's why they suit one another so well."

Jabril increased the shock. The deer's heart beat faster and faster, throbbing and squeezing almost painfully within the bounds of its chest. Setsu would look at him crossly if she knew he was doing this. Setsu should appreciate that he had let the beast die first. As far as Jabril was concerned, that was the height of morality and ethical consideration.

The scientist slit one of the veins in the deer's legs with a claw, to see if the blood was flowing well to its extremities. It had congealed a little already, but otherwise results were quite good! Viscous red fluid anointed the pads of his paws.

"Pr'aps y'are undead. Or pr'aps yuir a wee bit of a freak o' nature. Pr'aps ye ha' somethin' else t'pump th'blood." He gave Swax an assessing look. It hadn't been his intent to insult her by calling her a freak of nature. Freaks were the only things worth studying at a higher level. "Ha' you er'e considered exploratory surgery? On yuirself? I cut open m'own thigh once, t'see if there was an abnormality in th' lipid layer on m'body. T'would explain my resistance t'the cold."

Swax wasn't really insulted in the least by the level of names she'd been called. Afterall, by her own standard, she -was- a freak of nature. Again, she blamed her parents. In fact, she considered how lightly he'd said them as a -compliment-, while she looked at the blood on the dead creature's leg, pondering curiously over it.

"Mmm. How long d'you think you'll be able to keep it's heart going before the pulse becomes irregular, uneven, and eventually mimics a heart-attack?" she inquired, before mulling over the rather interesting thought that had been posed to her by her fellow scientist.

She held up one of her limbs to take a look at it, before shrugging a bit. "I dunno. Never really crossed my mind to be that curious. Perhaps because, as I say, I'm a rather imcomplete specimen and I can't be sure what abnormalty can be blamed on what genetic genepool. I'd have to dissect my entire family first before I could really do that, and I don't think it would be smiled upon." she explained, before shrugging a bit.

"Though the only really interesting thing to look into would be the state of my 'heart'. Since I -know- what to blame that on." she added, pondering morbidly over actually attempting it......

...

On herself.

"D'pends on th'level o' plaque in the arteries. An' th' whims of tha' bonny lady luck. I do'nae have a sample size large enough t'calculate probabilities."

He pointed towards the pulsing organ with one bloody claw. The red matted strangely on his bright green fur. He almost looked gruesomely festive.

"Myocardial infarction will nae occur unless th'exertion of th'heart knocks plaque loose, yeh? M'hopin' we willnae see one. M'tryin' tae test fer durability." The scientist furrowed his brow. "Pr'aps next time I ought t'feed it Heparin first."

The two kitsu watched for a few minutes, until the deer's heart twitched and shuddered, macking a sickening, squelching, tearing noise.

Jabril sighed. Four minutes thirteen seconds. Not as long as he would have liked.

"Tha'll be the atrium walls tearin', I s'spect."

He cut into the heart with a claw in order to confirm his theory. Blood spurted out all over his muzzle, but the male did not seem to mind.

"What d'ye do fer yuir sciencin' projects, flu- Swax?"

Swax almost shuddered in glee at the sound the heart made after several minutes, her tails starting to wag a mile a minute. While it was strangely morbid, the conversation the pair was having, it brought a giant smile to her face. Ah, how nice it was to talk to someone who was -civilized- for once.

"Probably means that you need to slow down the pace-maker a tad, because a heart pumping too fast can cause that to happen." Swax commented, but had to agree that variables were rather nice. "I'd say try what you can without the Heparin first, before bringin' it into the entire equation." she suggested.

Swax looked over at the blood on Jabril's face, seeming to be slightly curious now that he'd put the notion into her mind about if she bled or not, but she kept the thought to herself, instead pondering if he was going to get that or not. While she didn't care either way, part of her already wanted to lick it off his face for him.

Iron and hemoglobin was good for the body.

"Ahh, my own little tests, you want to know?" she chimed, seeming to go into a little bit of a sing-song voice and smirking. "Well, so far it's a lot of hit-and-fail for checking the exact physical mapping of veins and nerves..." she suddenly laughed a bit to explain: "I'm trying to find a place on the body where, if you can hit it right, you don't hit pain receptors, nor draw blood. Because I'd love to just walk up to someone and pop something into such a spot and see how long it was until they found out..." she paused for a moment before adding, "Or find the best silent-assassination point where you could jab something in there and if they kept walking around it would cause a good pound of internal damage and.." she suddenly collapsed to pantomime death, before rolling over and cackling. "Perhaps someone else has already found it, but I'm enjoying the process of making all the little animals haaaaate me."

Jabril smiled, relieved that being discovered had made his afternoon more interesting, rather than forcing him to squander his time on defenses and justifications and tedious threats. The biologist didn't care about taunting or tormenting creatures so much as he cared about knowing things, but he recognized that he was most likely to find playmates and kindred spirits amongst the the more sadistic members of his species. They tended to have fewer ridiculous hang-ups.

A chuckle formed low in his throat, and he did not bother to suppress it. Instead he tipped his head back and cackled at Fluffy's strange impression. THe pair of them got a good half-minute of mad laughter in before he brushed his hair back, and started talking again.

"There's an ol' friend o' mine in th' Realm. A mentor in some ways, ye might say. Name o' Jormundgander. Ye ought t'meet him. I think ye'd ha' a lot in common."

The male fastidiously licked the blood off his muzzle, then off his claws, before padding over to Swax and prodding her in the chest.

"But yuir nae ha' bad. Ye e're want t'exchange notes, or go lookin' fer th' heart o' yuirs, ye know where t'find me, yeh?"

Listening intently to the description given to Swax in terms of a name of someone she -might- have liked to meet over elsewhere back in the Realm, where the majority of her family lived, she nodded a few times, before offering in return her own little spray of knowledge: "Well, if you fancy meeting others of -my- caliber, keep and eye out for the family: Dad's name is Saix, Mum's name is Ayako.." she paused and made a subnote of, "though, no matter how much I adore the woman, she's far from being the most interesting kitsu I know" before continuing with "then my brothers, Xelon and Xanul."

Because, somehow, it wouldn't surprise her to see them all pop up in this one's future. How many of them would be surprised to hear their sister was willing and -happily- hanging out at the scene of a morbid experiment? Not father, surely. "I'm sure my brother's will be the most entertainment, however. Especially.." she added in a whisper, "around the full moon."

After the jab in the chest, she lifted a paw to rub at it sorely, before grinning in probably the least -creepy- way she'd done throughout their entire meeting. "Well, that's a good sign. I don't need to be half-something-else." she jested, before nodding firmly. "But a note exchange might be up for grabs in the future. Who knows what each of us has that could further the investigations of the other, hmm?" she said in observation before adding "But unless you'll always be here, which part of be thinks you -won't- be, you might just have to come find -me-."

Full moon, was it? Jabril filed away the tidbit of information for future reference. Perhaps he'd hunt the boy down and take a few notes. Out of deep concern for his new friend Fluffy, of course.

"An' where would I find a smart lady like yuirself in tha' great wide realm?" He inquired. "I ha' a lab aroun' here, as does me mum, but if I were t'give ye a location, ye'd ha' to keep it to yuirself."

Jabril winked.

"There's more'n one kitsu who doesn'ae approve of work such as ours, if ye get my meanin'. One do-gooder nearly snapped me neck when I was a wee kit."

He wasn't sure if he was comfortable giving out the location of his lair just like that. Only his mother and Setsu knew where he lived, at the moment, and Jabril liked to play that card close to his chest. But there were many things he'd do for company, and science, and it was about time he booby-trapped the entrance anyway. He couldn't shirk off his chores forever just because setting up mechanical devices was boring.
