((*can't help but snicker at some of the various reactions Luna is giving EE before picking one without curse words in it*))
Luna felt herself hauled to her feet from under her arms and made a face as she felt to make sure her nose wasn't broken. "Ow," she said finally, having gone through and discarded several responses. She wiggled her nose before managing to get her feet under her so she could stand on her own. "That hurt." A bit unnecessary, but still... Then she caught sight of the look on Alair's face and managed a small grin, since it hurt a tad to grin any bigger. "I'm fine, honest. Just a few bumps and bruises, nothing I haven't had before." She didn't want him to stop trying to teach her just because she fell. Again.
She'd never live this down if she couldn't manage to get it right, and soon.

Alair nearly over balanced when Luna came up. Fortunately the two didn't fall backwards, though it took a funny little hop step to avoid it. Still.... "Are you sure? Do you need to take a break or put ice on it or something?" His hands began flapping back and forth in an effort to do something.
"I don't want you to get hurt bad or make it worse or something..."

><; Sigh. She was fine, honest. Just a few aches here and there, that's all.
"Please. No more ice on my nose. I'm fine, really. I can keep going. Please?" Luna really wanted to learn. She could take a break after she learned something. If she stopped now, she wasn't sure she could start again.

"Okay...." Alair admitted slowly. He grabbed the moon child's hand and slowly started backing up again. This time he just let go when it looked like Luna was getting the hang of it.

Luna slowly started to go forward as Alair pulled her. Her feet started to move on their own, left push, right push, left push, right push... She fumbled a bit, her feet knocked out of rhythm as she became scared when Alair let go, but she soon found the rhythm again and started to skate again, arms held out to help her keep her balance.
She was slow, but she moving all on her own. That was something, right?

"YES!" Alair shouted the word, drawing several looks from nearby skaters. The boy began to jump up and down, and even managed to do it once or twice before his foot slipped. A wibble and a wobble later he was on his but on the ice.
Blushing hotly with embarrassement, Alair laughed sheepishly as he levered himself up. "You're doing it Luna! You're skating!"

Luna, startled at Alair's shout, nearly fell along with Alair himself. Only the shear desire to stay upright kept her from falling. She drifted past Alair to a stop and twisted to look at him with a wry grin. "I was, wasn't I?" She carefully moved her feet: balance on one, lift other, put it down at a right angle, put weight on it, lift other... She soon managed to turn around to look at Alair without twisting, which risked her balance. "Do you suppose we can teach me how to turn now? And maybe stop?" She paused for a moment. "Maybe stopping first, then turning."

Alair rubbed the back of his head. "Um, well...... I kind stop by turning. I don't really know how to stop really well so I turn in a circle until I stop moving. I guess it's like gliding except you keep going back to where you started so it doesn't really seem like you're going anywhere. It kinda looks like this," Alair demonstrated by turning in a circle. "I just sort make my feet look like a v shape and let myself stop."
The boy bit his lip and looked at Luna, hurrying to catch up with her. "Do you wanna try it? Or you could stopping some other way, the hockey skaters make a big shower thing by pushing the skates out sideways and the girls dig their skates in so..." Alair spread his hands and shrugged.

She really couldn't turn yet, so she couldn't use his method... yet. The shower method sounded like she could fall down quite easily. She wobled for a bit, attempting to stop, before she fell flat on her behind. "Well," she started, her face red with chargin, "I suppose falling also works if you want to stop. Not my favorite choice but..." She blinked, then started to twist around to look for a clock. "What time is it? I hope it isn't too late..." Oh, was she going to get it if she wasn't back before they noticed!

Alair let out a laugh. "Yeah... I guess so." Glancing at the setting sun, Alair shrugged. "I dunno but I should probably be going home. Dad doesn't like me to be out alone after dark. Say's theres weird things in the woods around here."
Alair helped Luna to her feet. "C'mon, I'll help you to the bank."

Luna managed to get to her feet only with Alair's help. "Would you please?" She lightly clung to him, worried he might leave without her. She thought about something and winced. "Er... You remember where on the bank I left my boots at?" She needed to get her footwear back and give Alair his skates back.
