: Only getting a two count, Bret would be somewhat slower in getting to his feet than Diego. But obviously, that was due to the fact that he had been roughed up on the outside of the ring. With Diego backing off, Hart had to go after the man, and his first target was clear. Bret would attempt to fire a kick into the midsection of the opponent. If successful, Hart would try to grab onto Diego's wrist to irish whip him toward a corner of the ring. :

Diego had wanted Bret to make the first move, which was why he hadn't attacked first. It was easier to counter a move than to land one when the opponent had some momentum. As Bret swung his leg at Diego, Diego side stepped and attempted to grab Bret's leg. If he landed the grab, Diego would attempt to shove Bret down to the ground and wrench him into an ankle lock to injure one of the legs. If he missed the grab, Diego would attempt to irish whip Bret into a corner, which would be followed up by a clothesline.

: So it seemed that Alva had plenty of fight left in him, and thus as Hart attempted that irish whip, Diego would pivot around to send Bret into the corner instead. However, in mid-whip, Bret would attempt to duck and spin around to reverse the momentum of the grasp. If successful, Hart would now try to pull Diego right into a double-leg takedown where he could try and seize both of the opponent's legs, attempting that ever-dangerous Sharpshooter! It was especially dangerous in Alva's case since the hold could easily be adjusted to impact the knees of the opponent! :

As Alva thought that he would have Bret in a corner, he thought to soon as the veteran ducked down and took out his legs, knocking him down to the mat. It was then that his opponent tried to lock in the sharp shooter. Diego refused to have his legs injured and drew both legs in to his chest, and Bret too if he was still holding onto his legs, and kicked them outwards in attempt to get the danger away from him. Whether he got Bret away with that or not, Alva then would make a scramble for the safety of the ropes.

: The attempt at the Sharpshooter was to serve the purpose of getting Alva on the defensive. With Alva near the ropes, Bret would move over and look to seize just one of the legs at this point to drag him toward the center of the ring. With the success of that, Hart would then look to isolate by placing both hands down against the opponent's shin, elevating his whole body skyward to drill his knee into the exposed knee joint of his opponent. :

Alva attempted to roll out of the way of Bret's grab for his leg, but to no avail as he was dragged towards the center of the ring. As Bret put his hands on Alva's shin, attempting to drive his knee into Alva's injured one, the former champ tried to squirm out of the way, but once again, it was useless. Alva screamed in pain, rolling away from Bret and grasping his knee after the connection was made. Alva tried to get to the outside so that he could recooperate from the loss of momentum and from the pain in his leg.

: Finally slowing Alva's roll of momentum, Hart was taking the match to a pace of his liking. Seeing Alva roll away in a scramble after the maneuver, Bret would make pursuit as he tried to roll out of the ring. Bret would now attempt to step onto the back of the knee joint to halt Alva's leave. The possible success of that would then allow Bret to bend the rest of the leg upward and lift it in an attempt to just stomp into the back of that knee joint. :

During Alva's scramble for the ropes, he had exited panic mode and began to think. As he felt Bret's foot go on the back of his knee joint, his left leg instantly lifted up and swung so that it would go over the right one. This was a reflex attempt to knock Bret's foot away. If successful, Diego would spin on the mat and drive for Bret's knees in an attempt to drive his shoulder into Bret's thigh while synching up his knees. This would look like a proper rugby tackle if it worked. If the move was successful, Alva woudl attempt some mounted punches to daze the veteran.

: Knocked away from that attempt, Bret instinctively stepped backward to survey and stay on top of Alva. As Alva drove forward for that tackle, Hart was ready, and attempted to answer that tackle with a brutal, single knee aimed for the face of the former Champion. :
( No idea, I know that Schev wanted to give us enough time to get a decent match out though. )

((Great match guys. Sorry we took long to end the PPV. I honestly don't know what happened.......... Hope you guys like this finish.))
*The crowd was witnessing a wrestling classic as Alva and Hart put on a technically masterpiece in the squared-circle. Later on in the match, Hart regained the upper hand. With Alva in the corner Hart landed a series of hard knife-edged chops, accompanyed by the sound of the crowd shouting "WHOOOOOO!" as each one made contact. After the sixth chop Alva stumbled forward, walking along the edge of the ring near the ropes. The verteran Hart followed him closely, not letting much distance get between them. Hart placed a hand on Alva's shoulder and another on his back. He irished whipped Alva across the ring into the ropes. Hart bent over mid-ring as though he were attempting a back body drop. Alva was experienced enough to see this coming. Alva grabed the ropes to stop himself from bouncing and running into Hart. He then tried to land a kick to the head of Hart, but Hart was crafty. Hart noticed when Alva grabbed the rope. He stood up-right and caught Alva's kick in time. He then executed a perfect dragon whip taking Alva down. Hart held onto Alva's leg after executing the move, and the crowd burst into cheers as Hart attempted to lock in his signiture, The Sharpshooter. Hart had Alva's legs wraps and tried to turn him over, but Alva fought hard. Alva grunted and screamed "NO!" as he tried to stop the move that had gained Hart so many wins in the past. Alva somehow managed to counter, locking up Hart up in a small package!*
1... 2...
*Hart got his shoulder up. Hart got up quick and immediatley began to stomp on Alva. He landed a few good boots to the stomach before he took a step back. Hart lifted up his elbow and patted elbow pad. He droped foward aiming to land an elbow drop to the head of Alva, but Alva rolled away from Hart, causing him to land on his elbow and let out a slight scream of pain. Alva stumbled to his feet and got up by the ropes. Hart also got up, but headed towards the ropes on the other side of the ring insted. Alva saw Hart doubled over holding his shoulder. Alva quickly made his way to Hart and attemped the DKO, but Hart held the ropes! Alva landing back first on the canvas with a thud. Hart looked over his shoulder and was pleased to see Alva on the ground. He pointed at his head, showing that he outsmarted Alva. Hart slowly turned around and bent down to pick up Alva. As he did so, Alva kicked up his legs so that they hooked under Hart's armpits. Alva rolled Hart foward in a cradle pin and squuezed his arms together around Harts legs to hold him down.*
1... 2... 3! Ding ding ding!
*Hart gets out of the cradle, but it was a fraction of a second to late. Half of the crowd cheers while the other half boos. Hart has a shocked look on his face as "Remember the Name" begins playing. Alva gets up, leaning against the ropes.*
Howard Finkle: The winner of this match....... DIEGOOOOOOOOOOOOO ALLLLLLLVAAAAAAAA!
*Alva raises his right arm up into the air signifying triumph. Hart places his hands on his hips and looks down letting out a sigh. He takes a step foward and extends his hand out to Alva offering him a handshake, showing respect. Alva accepts and the crowd cheers. Hart raises Alva's hand in victory before exiting the ring to leave Alva to celebrate.*
