Yesterday a protestor decided to hang outside of our seminary building yesterday with a picket sign. After I got home, I really wanted to go up to him and say, "Happy Holidays!" with complete sincerity and no sarcasm and see what he would do.
What do you do when you see someone protesting?

~Viva~Per~Amore~ Yesterday a protestor decided to hang outside of our seminary building yesterday with a picket sign. After I got home, I really wanted to go up to him and say, "Happy Holidays!" with complete sincerity and no sarcasm and see what he would do. What do you do when you see someone protesting? I am bad that way, I usually totally start chatting with them. Contention IS of the Devil, so it is not good to bible bash and I am afraid that is sometimes my inclination. But USUALLY I can just chit chat and find common ground. I think being nice and talking to him is an AWESOME idea. What IS he protesting anyway?

I usually laugh at what they are saying...you would think more protesters would come up with intelligent and new arguments. Guess that could be a little hard for people that are wrong though lol.

I laugh sometimes. there wa this group of protestors outside the temple easter pagent one time and some guy decided to dress up as the devil and sit there with his own sign. "These men are my people," or something like that. I'll have to post the picture here sometime. Now every time I see protestors, i think of that and laugh.

It was always amusing to see the protestors who sat all in black in 100 degree weather in Hollister protesting the war.
But yeah...I would say either ignore them, or be nic eto them.

Remember the Article of Faith about "...claiming the priveledge of worshipping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience and allow all men the same priveledge?" Be greatful that you can go to seminary and be enriched and educated in an uplifting environment and feel a little sorrow for someone who has not got all the light and truth that you do and think about what Jesus' response would be. "Neither do I condemn thee..." and yet he also did not tolerate those who were wrong to stay in the temple - don't let them stay in your "temple" or conscience either. "My peace I leave with you..." hold on to that!

I went to see the hillcumorah pagent last summer and while we were leaving, i heard one of them yell, "God won't accept your good works." I just thought to myself that if he won't accept mine then he sure won't accept your's either.
