Susan, Fitz, and Martha. heart Apparently, I sort of like the quirky, witty ones who maybe annoy the Doctor a bit but he'd be up a creek without a paddle without them.

For the Old series, I love Jo, Sarah Jane and Leela, as well as the second Romana and Ace. As far as Male companions, I just Love Harry!
I only sort of liked Rose, and if Martha hadn't spent half her time flirting with guys and pining after the doctor, I would have liked her alot more.
Jack actually used to annoy me alot, but I've warmed up to him QUITE A BIT.
Heh.

I love Peri, and Nyssa was nice as well. I like Jack from Torchwood, but haven't seen him in any DW episodes yet. I like Rose mostly just because she made the Doctor so happy, and she was more self-reliant than a lot of other companions. Got to love K-9 too xd I usually like any companion, but not the whiney ones that can't do anything without someone holding their hand the whole time.

The more I watch Who the more I like almost every companion *but* Rose.
Now before all the Rose fans kick me for hatin' on her...
first, alot of the older Who girls were unusally forward and spunky for thier times. Rose has the benefit of being written in a time where strong women are accepted... in the 60's 70's and 80's not so much.
Secondly; the more I see of Rose the more I see her as a "Mary Sue" She's too perfect sometimes. Even worse when you talk to fans and they cannot stop telling you how perfect and cool Rose is -.-

I pretty much like all of them but my favorite male companion is most definitely Turlough. Even though he tried to kill the Doctor, there's just something about him that I like. My favorite female companion is Donna. Very spunky, very funny, worked well with the Doctor balanced him out.
But to go by version of the Doctor, since there are so many companions to love:
First: Susan
Second: Jamie
Third: Sara Jane
Fourth: Leela
Fifth: Turlough, like I said. Though I also loved Adric and Tegan.
Sixth: Mel
Seventh: Ace
Eighth: Fitz
Ninth: Jack
Tenth: Donna, also like I said.

Old who- Ace (because she's the companion I watch most as a kid)
New who- Donna ( Because like a real women she's hits her man when he's being a idiot)

I also like Ace and Donna the best. Ace, because she could hold her own with out the Doctor. Donna, because she could hold her own against the Doctor's outbursts.
