Scared the hell out of me, too. But as the thread subject says, I was taking my girlfriend home, and was standing outside when she was talking to a friend, and I looked up, to watch, as clearly as I've seen anything, the moon moving across the sky, looking like it would be halfway across in about 4 minutes. I thought to myself, "Holy s**t... can this be happening...? What the hell could that mean, astronomically? I hope the planet isn't going to be destroyed..."
But to my relief, I noticed some thin wispy clouds, that a minute ago I would have sworn were holding still, were racing across the sky and the face of the moon, and it was holding quite still. I was relieved, stared up at the sky, trying to get myself to see it as still clouds and a moving moon, but I couldn't do it again. But I found it a rather extraordinary experience, extremely vivid, taking place in the real world, and very very scary. What would you guys think if you saw a full moon racing across the sky? What would you say if you saw something plain as day happening that is clearly unbelievable/really ******** strange?

If I saw the moon racing across the sky? I swear, my first thought would be: "Who hit the fastforward button?" Then I'd be, "Oh, wait...I'm standing outside, aren't I..."
I actually don't think I'd be too surprised if something really strange like that happened. Not because it's commonplace or anything, but because my sense of reality isn't quite the same as most people's.

Sounds like something I experienced only on a much grander scale.
I was outside one night and saw what looked like either a very bright star or a very bright plane. All of a sudden this light jumped from one side of the sky to the other and then started to move at a slow pace across the sky.
UFO maybe? XD....

I see that when we have clouds and a lot of wind. You simply focus on the sky,not the clouds, and it will make it seems when like the sky is turning and the clouds are still.Like a gyroscope.

I had something like this happen about two years ago. Basically, I went on a walk with my friend, and we got lost for over an hour even though there was only one trail. Then when we finally got to the end of the trail she noticed her ID card and debit card fell out of her wallet. We backtracked, and it only took about 15 minutes, didn't find it so she cancelled the card.
An hour later her card was turned into a police station two states away. both the police and her bank were very, very confused. We called several times and confirmed it.
My reaction, if I remember right went like so: "WHAT?! [pause] WHAT?! [repeat a few more times, crack up]"
So yeah, if I saw the moon racing across the sky I'd probably force another person to come look, and if it was still going I would point at it and yell at it for being so wrong. xd
