I know fantasy with regards to standard fantasy books.
But I read a series of books called Otherworld by an author named Kelley Armstrong. (Anyone know her?) They take place in today's world but they are about werewolves, vampires and witches. How would I define her books? Non-fiction seems just too wide open. Ideas?

Vampires, werewolves and such creatures are usually classified as supernatural, which usually is called fantasy too. I might call this genre gothic fantasy or something similar.
I think of fantasy in broad terms, so it's not restricted to just the past and scifi not just to the future. But that's a really good question to pose for everyone. cool

I thought of Gothic for Kelley Armstrong's work but it's not dark enough. A good bit of humor in it, which I love. <3
