Calixte couldn't be more happier. Though she was away from the pack, the little one was exceptionally pleased that she had made her first friends. And these two, these brown pups, were going to be her bestest friends in the whole wide world. She just knew it. Golden eyes danced from one to another, gleaming with delight as the pair were reintroduced. She wondered why they didn't tackle each other and roll around in play, or why Rend didn't look so excited as she had thought he might be in seeing him. Well, so long as there were no more tears, she was one happy puppy.
Her ears swiveled over at Rend as he agreed with her reply, but she felt no offense. It was true - she was far too small to be a real lady but maybe someday. Someday she could be as regal and wonderful as Ms. Bindi! But that was a loooooong way away.
Still standing besides Rend, her tail wagged faster in delight as the other brother bowed at her. In fact, it delighted her so much she burst in to giggles and suddenly spun round in a circle, as if she were attempting to chase her tail. All sunshine and rainbows, she beamed at the compliment to her name, and couldn't resist bounding forward to give him a happy lick on the cheek. "It's very, very, very nice to meet you Maim! You're the first friends I've made since joining Ms. Bindi and her pack! We can be best friends forever, right, and grow in to pretty ladies and gentlemen, yes?"
She sounded almost desperate, though her smile was genuine and sincere. Oh, how she was thrilled to be in such a position. She couldn't wait to return home and tell Bindi allllll about her new friends and the new wolves in her life. Rend and Maim. Rend and Maim. The two pups were imprinted in her memory and she refused to forget them. Though they'd eventually have to part, she wanted to make sure she'd see them again.
It was very easy for the little one to think so greatly of companionship; she had lost her mother long ago and been alone for a good chunk of time before meeting Bindi. Now that things had changed, she never wanted to be by herself for any length of time ever again.

Backing up a bit, Rend lay himself down, trying to seem small and unassuming. It was always best when Maim did the talking anyway, and it was like... it wasn't...
He stifled another cry and sniffle, so that he wouldn't upset Calixte.
An idea struck Maim as he listened to Calixte talk of Bindi and a pack. He didn't quite want to join a 'pack'... but.. maybe a trek in that direction would help them move farther away from their mother, and maybe... just maybe... away from Father as well.
He nodded in agreement with her question. "Of course we will!" he, too, felt like spinning in a tight little circle, but left off at a quick tail-wag.
Maim really didn't want to cause trouble with Calixte and her family... mostly by bringing the wrath of their parents on the pack, but he figured that his mother and father were no match for... an entire pack! Even a pack of three would be a number above and... yes.
"Hey Calixte?" he questioned, sounding as earnest as possible. "Do you... do you think.. I mean." he paused, gathering himself up before sitting down, making sure his paws squared neatly on the ground and his small tail curled around his left haunch. "Me and Rend, we don't have family. Do you think that B-... Bindi and her pack would maybe want us too? Even just for a little while, until we're bigger and can look out for ourselves better?"
He knew it was a mouthful, but he hoped that Calixte could help the pair out. He didn't want to be a burden, and- thinking again about their parents- didn't want to cause trouble. "If not, then... maybe we could just follow you back, and part ways at the pack's border?"
Anything to get us farther from here... he added silently.

Calixte pricked her ears as her newest friend began his hesitant question. Golden eyes peered curiously at him as he struggled to speak, and she wriggled excitedly from paw to paw. Did she think . . . did she think what? Her rump wiggled behind her before Maim finally managed to spit out what he needed to say. Gleefully, the little gold and white pup laughed and ran another happy circle around her composed companion.
With a little pounce, she playfully attacked Maim, chewing happily upon his ear and cheek ruff as she attempting to bowl him over. Her excitement often got the best of her and today was no exception. All laughter and assurance, the optimistic puppy captured the yellow gaze of her friend and gave a happy nod. "Of course she would! She's just like my mama and took me in without a second thought! And she just had puppies a while back too, so I don't see why she or the pack wouldn't accept you!" Whirling off of him, she ran over to where Rend lay and gave him a just as happy nuzzle, practically falling over him in her glee. "I can take you back to where they live so you can meet 'em! They're all awfully nice. . . all of 'em! Oh please, please come back home with me - even if it's just for a lil' while!"
She looked from Rend to Maim, her tail wagging a million miles per hour behind her as she waited for their answer. They could be home before dark and have everything figured out! And if her dearest friends came with her, she wouldn't have to worry about losing them down the road!

From where he lay, the pup's ears pricked and swiveled towards his brother's suddenly unsure sounding speech. That wasn't like Maim at all... just what was going on with his brother, now?
At first, as Calixte laughed, Maim was unsure of what she thought about his request, but when it was followed with her circling him, he popped to attention, sitting up on his haunches, forepaws in the air folded neatly over one another. His small whisp of a tail swished back and forth and a grin sat on his maw.
"Aiyee!" he play-yelped, as he went down with the attack. With Rend this would have been work - serious training for their future... but... now it was actually fun. His tongue draped from his maw in an easy pant and his tail whirred along so fast he thought his butt would start in with it.
He returned the chewing with pawing, batting at the other puppy's chin softly. "Really..." he mused aloud as she went to give the same treatment to Rend.
He wouldn't bother to ask his brother. Rend couldn't do without him anyway, so there was no point in trying to explain his entire line of thinking to his brother now, especially not with Calixte within earshot. He really didn't want the little pup worrying about the pair's parents tracking them down.
"Thank you, we'll come home with you Calixte." he spoke, regaining his composure finally. It had felt nice to loosen up and just... be a pup for a minute. Maybe when they were safe and secure inside Calixte's pack, he would have to act like a puppy more often.

The little spotted wolf finished abusing Rend with girlish affections, and trotted so she stood between the two brothers. Her little tassel of a tail wagged happily behind her as she glanced from one to another, shifting excitedly from paw to paw. Ooooh - Bindi would surely take them in, wouldn't they? Of course! They were her very first bestest friends, so that had to count for something; as close to family as she would get! Besides, the two boys were so nice and friendly and were all alone. . . Surely they'd be cared for!
"Did you . . .did you want to come with me now?" She glanced from Rend before looking back towards Maim and awaiting his answer. It was obvious that the brown furred pup seemed to be in command and control of the siblings, and was definitely the more dominant pair between the two. In fact, Rend hadn't said much of anything since she'd helped him find his brother. . . .
Hmm. Maybe once they hit the road, she could get him talking again. It was no fun just sitting on the outside of conversation when everyone else was chattering with one another anyway!
"Cause I . . . I'll admit, it is kinda far. I took a very looooong walk today, you know." No, even though she'd spent a good chucnk of her puphood on her own, even with a new family such as Pandemonium, the young girl couldn't help but steal away from time to time. She liked to travel and wander, but sometimes - most of the times - that requiered sneaking off the territory and exploring all on her own.
Oh, she could probably get Antigone or Juude to come if she asked or begged, but . . . . well. . . they were all involved with caring for the new pups so she didn't want to be a bother. She was lucky enough they let her stay!

He wasn't sure if this was what he wanted. Sure, it would allow him to stay near Calixte... and he wouldn't have to deal with being alone with Maim. On that thought, he felt all for this new plan!
He sat, stock still, as Calixte lavished him with affection, hoping that he wouldn't irritate Maim, thinking that his brother had tagged the female for his own. Once Maim claimed something, nobody messed with it. The puppy wanted to cry again, at that thought. "Calixte..." he said her name softly, then sighed.
Maim noticed that Rend was acting a bit strange, but put it to the back of his mind for now. He stood up, shaking himself off to make sure no dirt or leave stuck to his fur. "If it's a long way, then yes... we should leave now." he said with a nod, making his way to where Calixte stood, stopping a respectable distance from her.
"Are you up for a long walk, brother?" he asked his sibling jokingly. Part of him knew that Rend was weaker than him, but he figured that the pup could keep up and would be find on the journey. He hadn't been too bad so far, and the pair of them alone had traveled a long long way from where they had left their mother.
He gave a short yip and tailwag to let Calixte know that he was ready, and watched as Rend, too, stood up and appeared to also be ready to leave this place. Maim would miss the pretty area of water, and the rock, but he was sure there were more clearings like this out in the woods. He wouldn't be missing it for too long.
"How many others are there in the pack?" he asked, "Are there other pups?" smiling, he stretched and readied himself to follow Calixte to her home.

"It'll be fun!" She reassured both of them, quite certain that her long walk wasn't nearly as far away as it seemed. Especially that she now had some fantastic company with two friends, they would get to the borders of Pandemonium in no time! A little conversation really would go a long way. . .
Tail wagging happily behind her, Calixte could only imagine their happiness in her pack. It had a giant waterfall and was surrounding by mountains, woods and plains. There was a huuuuuge lake to play and swim in, and the valley in which they lived was immensely beautiful. It was the prettiest land she'd ever seen, and yes, she was biased, but that was quite all right. Her new family was there, and most importantly Bindi!
While Maim and Rend prepared themselves for the trek, the little wolfess sniffed the air, ears twitching as she sought out the direction she needed to traverse. It took a minute, but eventually she caught the scent she was hoping for as well as the familiar horizon. Leading the way, pausing once only to make sure both brothers were following, she began her swift trot through the shadowed foliage of morning.
"There are lots and lots of wolves," she explained happily, tossing the boys a giddy smile. "I don't know all of them well, but Miss Bindi took me in and . . and I guess kind of like my mother, since I never had one before. She's really sweet, and just had a little of puppies a while ago too!" No, Calixte hadn't had a chance to really get to know the new ones, but she was sure they'd get along just fine soon enough. "And Juude - you'll like him, he's talks like he's crazy and acts just like a puppy himself, even though he's all full grown! And Antigone jingles and makes shinies somehow! We've got a bunch of warriors that fight and train too, so . . . if either of you wanna be tough and strong, you can learn from them easy!"
The little pup prattled on about the various members as she lead the pair through the heart of the woods, pausing now and then to relocate her trail, but was more than happy to teach Rend and Maim all she knew. Someday she'd know all the wolves by heart and scent, but for now she stuck with the few that were most prominent in her life. "There's always food too, so if you 'n Rend ever get hungry, you never have to wait."
That was one of Calixte's secret pleasures - food. Malnourished and half-starved as a pup, she had been close to death when Bindi had found her, and had quickly been shown the art of meat. The effects still lingered upon her smaller than average frame, and a frantic possessiveness over the food she was offered, but otherwise the little pup had turned out no worse for wear.
Maybe Rend and Maim would turn out just as sparkling with a little attention from those who cared too. Calixte, if she had her way, would make sure of it!

Oh HONESTLY. Maim was a suckup, with his smalltalk and... oh jeez.
But honestly, Rend feared being left behind, so he was up and ready to follow as quickly as he needed. There should be no worry that he would let himself fall behind, because he knew that would probably mean death for the pathetic pup.
"Thank you!" he finally thought to say, as he ran behind Calixte and slightly to the side of Maim, not daring to run fully behind both wolves.
He liked the thought of a big family, and hoped that the lands were as beautiful as he could imagine them being. "Jingles?" he questioned, and then... "Shinies?!" he couldn't wait to see THAT!
"What does it look like... the land I mean?" it was really important to him. More important than the wolves he would live with, in fact, but... really it was all important.
"Food is great" he mused aloud. He liked the sound of never having to wait, because the difference was great in what an adult could bring down and what a pup could kill... and he was sick of squirrels and rabbits by now. He was ready to try his teeth on bigger game. He was ready to EAT!
His stomach rumbled at that thought, and he groaned and hoped that the journey wouldn't be too long. The pair hadn't eaten at all today that he could remember, but he really wasn't too keen on stopping to catch something small, so he didn't mention it to Calixte.
"You holding up, brother?" he questioned Rend after a while, noting that the smaller pup was panting harder than he or Calixte. He cared for Rend, really he did, but Rend's attitude and actions irritated Maim a bit much these days.

Oh ho, Calixte couldn't wait for the journey to be over! Thankfully every step took her closer, every paw print meant they were drawing near! A joy had seeped its way in to the little blond wolf's soul, and she couldn't help but be glad that she had wandered as far away as she did. If she hadn't traveled outside the lands, she never would have found her two best-friends and given them protection with her pack and family. What might have become of the two without her? And where would her best-friends be without Rend and Maim?
Not wanting to think of the bleary what-if's, the little puppy giggled. "The land is absolutely gorgeous! We have a huuuuuge waterfall from one of the mountains that goes in to a lake, but I'm too scared to try to climb up it! And there are trees and grasses and lots of hills to run around too! There are lots of flowers too, when the weathers nicer. . . . It's awfully large though. I haven't even seen it all!" She admitted with a giggle, before slowing down in her romp ever so lightly.
Reaching over, she nosed at Rend encouragingly, hoping the little one would be able to make it. Not that she was any larger, of course. "I'll have to slow down soon too," she added gently, knowing at the excited pace she'd taken off at, her little frame would grow weary quickly.
But onward she carried them. . . and though they stopped to rest a few times, if only for Calixte's sake, it was just after noon when the three puppies reached the edges of Pandemoniums territory.
((Lame end but. . . call it a wrap unless you won't to post again. . . ? x3 ))
