Hollow eyes peered dully to the golden surroundings, and ears flicked often to the sound of frail leaves falling to the ground. Autumn... a warning in which Setsu surely heeded. So very soon, the snow would come, and the undead female would be forced to warmer grounds of some kind. Letting indigo hair fall over her eyes, the kitsusagi leaned back against the tree trunk. Time was still passing by, when to her it felt like nothing ever changed. Mm, perhaps not. This was still a new world to her afterall. But without her enemies or friends here beside her, then time was being wasted on nothing.

Bowing her head and tucking her tails around her form, Setsu feigned sleep. It was nothing more than idle awareness that otherwise made her look, by all appearances, dead. Pure white, feathered earring shifted in the ignored breeze as the kitsu rested.

User ImageAutumn had been intended as a transitional season, the listless period that linked the intense, idyllic buzz of summer months and winter's unforgiving chill where action was suspended in favor of hibernation. Unfortunately, no one had thought to inform a certain thief about the mandatory lull of in-between, and even if some shortsighted individual had carried such a conviction to her black-furred ears, her limited ability to pay attention would have produced dubious results.

A loud screech echoed through the densely wooded area, the deafening resonance quickly followed by a thump and what looked to be an explosion of dead leaves that drifted with crumpled sullenness back onto the head of the shinobi princess. The shriek had apparently been one of genuine glee as she abruptly extricated herself from the pile to canter back a few steps before taking another running jump and repeating the process all over again, perhaps trying to figure out how many times she could accomplish the feat before the novelty wore off. She'd often played the same game as a young child, but had predictably been scolded in a fierce fashion about what was and was not befitting to her royal station. If only her nannies could have seen her now, teetering on the edge of adulthood without a care for the lessons they'd tried to cultivate in her young mind. May they all have concurrent heart attacks and be ceremonially tossed off the side of a mountain range - raving, wicked toads of women.

Yuffie contentedly blew a few stray leaves back into the air as she considered other horrible demises for her previous caretakers, trying to see how long she could keep the fragile castoffs hovering from their resting places by simply puffing breath and darting around with rotting foliage stuck in her tails. The girl obviously wasn't interested in the opinion of any hypothetical observers, caught up in the entertaining diversion she'd reinvented when mugging had proven to be only a part-time job. How could everyone be flat broke? It didn't seem right to her at all; surely all the aristocrats took a different, secret route that she would discover after employing all her stellar skills as a thief-ninja hybrid. Later, she surmised, once she had reduced all the crunchy bits of fallen tree attire to nothing more than mulch.

Pale ears pinned in insult, the quiet woods surrounding her suddenly screaming with activity. Only thing was, such loud calamity was coming from a single being. Setsu twitched her brow, eyes closed tightly as she tried to focus on the source of the interruption. Tails gleamed with each scale as they uncurled, settling long against the floor to seek out vibrations. Yes, there was only one source, though what exactly it was couldn't be deciphered. She'd need to actually see the other to know if it was a true threat or not. Shaking out the dried leaves that had settled on her indigo locks, the undead stood and and headed in the direction of the ruckus.

It was hardly any distance before Setsu found what she was searching for. How could anyone miss the other kitsusagi? A shower of gold and browns flitted in the air as the other female emerged from the pile of leaves, before returning to them just as eagerly and swiftly as she had exited. Just what joy was this girl gaining from tossing herself around so? Standing out of view behind an old oak, the pale female crossed her front arms, head tilted lightly as she simply watched. Apparently, all that noise hadn't been a threat at all. Some moments passed, Setsu saying or motioning nothing, as if still sluggish from her earlier 'nap'. A cold autumn wind stirred between the trees, catching her feather earring like a dancing comrade before it fell idle once more. Time to go. Unfolding arms, the spectator made to leave back where she came from. Nothing to bother with here.
