Every word you get correct, you win ten grains of rice for the site to donate. 300 grains is a teaspoon. 3,000 grains is a fourth of a cup, and one cup is 12,000 grains. It's funded by the advertisements that appear on the site, and run by the United Nations. It calibrates itself to the upper ranges of your vocabulary, so that you're learning, but the words aren't too easy. There are fifty vocab levels.

I'm a wee bit skeptical about why they would make us play games to ffed the hungry, if they really cared, why don't they just donate all the rice? Then again, they're probably supporting literacy, no?

Vicarious Vows I'm a wee bit skeptical about why they would make us play games to ffed the hungry, if they really cared, why don't they just donate all the rice? Then again, they're probably supporting literacy, no? That's one part, yes. That, and they're not sitting on a giant pile of rice that they just dip into when you get a word right. When you get a word right, small advertisements on the bottom of the page register a hit, and generate revenue for the site- they use that money to buy about ten grains of rice- or 1/30th of a teaspoon. A more detailed explaination is in their FAQ.

I love this game, and the fact that it helps the hungry (and my vocabulary).
I really want to get to level 50 and stay there, but I think my level is around 39-42 right now.

This is awesome! Considering these are the words used for my vocabulary in Honors English II. Pretty freaking sweet, usually to broaden my vocabulary I read more books, but this is faster hahaha
