I joined the Avatar guild because I wanted a place to talk about the show, and a place to do theories and bounce them off people. So far I've been kinda disappointed. I just want more people to come together after the episodes and talk.

We do come and talk about each episode. Notice every Friday night.

Also if you're disappointed why don't you start off instead of just complaining. Everyone can b***h, but it takes action to solve a problem you don't like.

Agree. Butterfly in particular does a summary every Friday, and we comment. On what we thought, on what we liked, on what ships were shown, etc.
And other people post theories, and at least one person responds.

I agree that if you're unsatisfied, you should post yourself. Or make a new guild. But truthfully, it's not worth it if you're looking for more discussion than that which we already have here at this guild.

How about YOU start a thread or two, son. Bitching about it won't do anything. We talk about each and every episode every time, every week is a new thread that gets up to 5+ pages in length.

Theorizing? You're kind of starting late in the game, aren't you, brother? You should have been here in the days of '06 when the theories were getting thrown around like crazy.

Honestly, I think the commentary and such should be kept to one thread. When everybody goes and makes their own threads for every episode, it does seem like little gets done. And I personally don't care for the shipping discussions.

I, too, feel there's something lacking here, but I can't say as I know what it is. I think there seems to be more "OMG Tokka/Zutara/what have you", and "OMG that was awesome," and less actual discussion. So I guess I feel there is some discussion lacking here... but that could just be my own fault for not looking hard enough. The forum is big, bigger than I'm used to, and I guess such subjects are more scattered.

Good question... but there are better places out there to theorize with a more mature set of fans, like avatarspirit.net or distanthorizons.proboards31.com.

That is true. I think one sticky forum would be useful for the discussion of the episodes rather than many posts about the same episode. Usually if I discuss something about an episode in one post, I don't visit the other posts.

I'm glad that some people are so passionate about defending their shippings, but it can be tiring when people start to arguing over it.

Sticking to your own thread is definitely an issue... a problem I could see in one major thread, though, is the same comments getting thrown around... but this could be remedied if more discussion occurs and less just commenting.

They can argue and rant and fangirl all they want, as long as it's not brought into regular discussion. Cuz, c'mon, what's a shipping got to do with the story at all, unless it's clearly presented in the show? I don't really care to hear, "OMG, that line SO confirmed [ship]." It's... just a line. Why is everybody trying to see something that isn't there?

Like, I can accept Sokka and Toph, considering Toph has clearly pointed out her crush. But people trying to force Katara and Zuko together based on a couple random lines they misconstrue, I don't care for.

"I'll save you from the pirates," is sarcasm, people. Out of the frying pan, into the fire. It's a joke. He's not coming on to her. Deity, I hate that...

The shipping posts are mainly contained in the shipping sub-forum. If you don't like it, don't go there. We occasionally intertwine summaries and ship theories together, bu the majority of shipping discussion takes place in the sub.

If you want a discussion about a certain topic, you have to bring up a controversial issue. Then we can discuss it. Otherwise, most of the guild members aren't bothered by simply throwing around praise of avatar. If you look, some of the more adamant A:TLA fans will have good, intricate discussions about various topics.

Normally, different threads post different points about the topics. You just have to chose which ones you wish to give input to.

A plethora of people indefinitely equals a plethora of obnoxious nooblets. If you want a "mature discussion," start one on your own. Then, the "mature" members can add to your some theories and denounce other ones.

This is getting to out of hands. This isn't avatar related, so it'd belong in the general discussion.
If your disappointed in the expectations you want in the guild, TAKE ACTION. Your acting like my five year old brother. :/
