First of all, please post an update if there is an development. I would really like to read the outcome of this situation.
Secondly, I can't believe how stupid people are. This just proves why atheists are probably right. I seriously hope that this pastor as well as the people who paid the money for these children are arrested and put in jail.

He could have used drugs you know... Some drugs that REALLY mess you up. It's really sad and those women are idiots. I'm a Christian, but that is just plain stupidity on their part.
caffinated_tulip: Although you're right for the most part... some women do still bleed once or twice after becoming pregnant.

If there is more than spotting during pregnancy, it's generally a sign of an underlying problem, and requires medical attention a good portion of the time. Any bleeding that resembles a full-blown period is either a sign that you are NOT pregnant, or you're having medical issues with your pregnancy (possible miscarriage, etc).
(Check Scarleteen for this)

I didn't necessarily mean a full-blown one, but more than light spotting which would require more than a liner.

Any bleeding that resembles a full-blown period is either a sign that you are NOT pregnant, or you're having medical issues with your pregnancy (possible miscarriage, etc). (Check Scarleteen for this) Although interestingly enough, in the middle ages bleeding during pregnancy was a good sign, and also a sign you *were* pregnant rather than the swelling being an ulcer (which were common because of poor diet etc). If you didn't bleed regularly it would be a worry. In this time though they had no other ways of knowing whether someone was pregnant or not and would often ask "do you feel pregnant". No doctor today would take what a person felt was wrong with them seriously considering how long it took my friends mother to convince her doctor she had a wheat allergy and not IBS, or my grandmother being told the (cancerous) lump on her forehead was "probably nothing" and refused a biopsy until she paid thousands of pounds to a different doctor to check mad , but apparently back then how you "felt" was one of the best indicators available. Perhaps because it was taken seriously then people were more in tune with their bodies?

caffinated_tulip I'd be willing to say that even though we know how birth and the pre-life process works it dosent make it any less miraculous, to be creating a whole new life, that's pretty damn special I think. However, that being said, we do know how birth and the prelife process works. We know that there are very real undeniable signs that a woman is pregnant. No matter how devout you are, you know these things!! I imagine the conversation would go something like this: Woman who expects miracle baby: "I'm pregnant" Reasonable person: "Why are you buying tampons?" Woman who is so devout she forgot about biology: "I'm on my period" Reasonable person: "Then you're not pregnant" Woman who condones child abduction: "Yes I am! The pastor told me so" Reasonable person: "How is that possible? Being on your period means that you're not pregnat. You're not having a baby" Woman who is so blinded by her desire to have a child that it has made her stupid: "YES I AM! I PAID THE MONEY I'M PREGNANT!" (I imagine that the conversation degrading into fisticuffs shortly there after) I think it's really sad that some one who espouses to be a christian would take advantage of desperate people this way. One more question: How do they mimic the "birth" process. I imagine that the woman should be in Some pain... you dont pop a baby out painlessly, no matter how devout a woman is she'd know that you'd at least feel something being pulled out of you. Not to be crude but how did they reproduce that sensation? I don't think they can. Even with a double dose of pain medication during my epidural I was in pain while giving birth. Especially during the shoulder push... Ugh. I believe that they were either brainwashed or in a state of denial about everything because there is NO WAY you wouldn't be in some sort of pain during or after the birth. I'm going to try not to step on any toes but I seriously can't understand why people consider child-birth a miracle. Any male and female with a healthy reproductive system can create a baby. It's not like sweet baby Jesus came down from heaven and hand delivered their kid, this s**t happens every day. It's not a miracle. When you think of the massive number of infants born every day, honestly, it doesn't seem very special either. Of course it's a big deal for the parents, especially if it's a wanted pregnancy, and to them it's a very special occasion. But from my view pregnancy and childbirth are one of those things that are only really important (Or special) if they're happening to someone in your circle.

Hm... you learn something knew everyday Actually, I found an article the other day about a woman going to the ER. She was taken to the hospital because of severe cramping and while talking to the nurse she had complained about having another period because she and her husband had been trying to get pregnant for over a year and she was having regular periods. The doctor came in, took a quick look down below and said "not only are you pregnant, but you're having this baby right now." She gave birth to a normal healthy baby. They didn't show a picture or anything, but I assume this woman must have been over-weight. How can you not realize you have a baby inside you? Your tummy grows. I'll try to find the article for you. I didn't think about sharing it until just now. sweatdrop

The younger girl's didn't grow out, it grew in and gave her back pain, so she didn't get fat. And the other woman was kinda fat because she'd had three kids. It happens. : O They both gave birth in the bathroom XP
