Dean nods his head, blushing as he's offered a seat by them. "Okay," he says quietly, moving to an unoccupied chair near the group. As he sits, he grasps the strap of his laptop case with both hands and lifts it over his head. He then sets the case to the floor beside his chair. Dean sits tall and straight, using correct posture. In the car accident that took his eye, he'd hurt his back and neck as well. Slouching would just make him sore.
Dean places both hands to his lap, fingers tapping against each other as he works up the nerve to speak again. "Hackers," he mutters quietly to himself. Raising his voice, he states, "I don't know how I could have caught something on my laptop. It's a Macintosh. I've NEVER had a virus on it before."
Bowing his head slightly, his left hand moves to the back of his head, idly playing with his hair. Dean frowns, his eyes glazing over as he stares to the floor blankly now. Must be a nasty virus to affect both PCs and Macs. And this girl... If it's really that bad of a virus, can she really get rid of it? His head turns toward the others, left eye focusing on Adalia as Dean studies her appearance and demeanor further.

Smiling warmly at the girl next to her, Adalia nodded. "They are hackers, but not the bad sort. Not like some kid hacked your computer and gave you a virus, that sort of thing." Tilting her head, she gave a small laugh before adding, "And there's nothing to apologize for, silly!"
Turning to look at the newcomer, Adalia threw him one of her most charming smiles, hoping to make him warm up to her a little. Why do I always get stuck with the shy people when I take over for Fiach, anyways? Curiously watching as he took care to sit up, only to act nervous, she pondered on the conflicting signals. Sitting up tall was usually a sign of confidence, but idle movements and nervous behaviors were a sign of lack of confidence. A small shrug lifted her shoulders as she reminded herself now was not the time to try to analyze other people's behaviors. She was supposed to be working, not playing, after all.
Shaking her head slightly, she corrected the boy, "Its not a virus, but a sentient being. A type of AI. They live on people's computers, growing and surviving by eating data." She grinned before adding a happy, "When they become a child, you can become friends with them. They're actually quite talkative and a lot of fun to play with!"
Looking at the three sitting with her, she vaguely wondered if any of them would find hackers interesting, or merely a nuisance. She thought about what tactics she might have to take to convince them the Hackers weren't bad as she waited for their reactions.

Melee's eyes flickered to Kristian as he made an oddly aborted noise. He didn't seem surprised by her question at all. Could he have experience with the creatures already? Tucking this bit of data away, she listened to Dean's concerns and offered a sympathetic look. Her Dell had been immune to anything remotely buggy from the get-go, and now it was glitching impossibly, a chunk taken out of her work folder - and that was just what she'd noticed.
Blushing as Adalia rebuked her gently for apologising, Melee gazed down at her hands, now drawing idle patterns on her skirt. Hackers seemed more and more like parasites... But if Adalia suggested making friends... She cleared her throat after assimiliating the new information, realising that the other woman hadn't said anything about removing them. "You are saying... that we cannot get rid of them?" she queried. "Even so... I am not certain- that is, I have not seen anything resembling this sort of being on my laptop." She reached down to unzip her case and slid out the tiny, mauve machine. "Would you like to take a look?"
Unbeknownst to her, a gold and bronze speckled egg was nestled deep within her registry.

Kristian inwardly sighed- why did people think just because they had some amazing brand or something that they'd be immune to viruses and the like? Every computer was fully susceptible to intrusions, it just took the right program or person to carry out the action. Seeing as their names were "hackers" it'd make sens that they'd be able to easily get into someone's computer.
Adjusting his posture a tad- he had been a sloucher his whole life and sitting any other way was kind of uncomfortable, but he wanted to try and be polite- so that he was almost sitting up strait, Kristian listened to what the girls had to say before deciding to contribute his two cents. After all, since he wanted Adalia to help him, it wouldn't hurt to try and help her, too. Reaching into his hoodie pocket, he pulled out his gray palm pilot and held it up, screen facing outward so that the others could see Aiko bouncing around the screen. The little purple and black hacker had been playing a game of online chess, but had minimized it once she saw that she was going to be shown off.
Aiko floated to the top of the screen and then dropped down a bit, a speech bubble appearing above her head,
"Tiszizwha.... This is... what child hack... hackers look like. This.... one is friend...ly." Kristian spoke slowly, his words slurring together at the beginning. Stupid speech impediment. At home it wasn't a problem, since all his family was used to it and could understand him fine. Since he had graduated from high school he hadn't really bothered speaking to anyone that couldn't understand his normal way of speech, so he really hadn't been practicing speaking in a proper fashion. The result was an even bigger struggle to speak correctly than it had been back in school.
Meanwhile, little Aiko moved across the screen and did a small flip,

Dean tilts his head to the side, listening intently as Adalia explains what hackers are. His eyes widen as he realizes how high tech the AI must be for these creatures to actually grow, eat data, and interact with people. "They seem quite complex for mere data," he says with an interested tone.
He turns his head toward Melee as she speaks her concerns of getting rid of the hacker and of never seeing anything of the sort. He looks down to his own laptop case, recalling the object that's been sitting on his desktop. "So... The icon that sits on my desktop that doesn't do anything when I click it... It looks like a little yellow egg. Is that the hacker on my computer?"
Before his question may be answered, his attention is stolen by the other boy as he rises. He'd seemed timid before, but had now apparently worked up some nerve. His left eye watches the boy's hand as he removes a palm pilot to show to them. He grins as he watches the little creature, reading her text bubbles. "Wow..." he says quietly, amazed at how it could actually see them watching her. "That's awesome," he says a bit louder, now wanting to test how complex the creature is. He gives a slight chuckle and replies to the last text bubble by saying, "Hello, Aiko. My name is Dean." Quite odd, but he seemed more interested in interacting with a hacker than a human.

With a slight giggle, Adalia couldn't help herself as she exclaimed, "You're so cute, Melee!" She clapped her hands together a little, to show off her excitement, before frowning slightly at Melee's question of removal. "Well, you could get rid of them, but what would you want to do that for?" Noticing the slim laptop in Melee's hand, and listening to her last question, Adalia gave her a quick nod and a flash of a smile. "Sure, I'll take a look if you like."
Before she could put her hands on the girl's laptop, though, Kristian awkwardly showed off what was on his palm pilot. A small squeal of delight escaped from Adalia's lips as she saw the child hacker on it. "Aiko! Its so nice to finally meet you! Li'tae has been talking about you a lot, he says you met someone named Trisste?" She had heard a fair bit about the hyperactive young hacker from Li'tae, who was very good friends with Trisste, the hacker Aiko had once met in a Cafe. Her pleasure at finally getting to meet the young hacker showed through the shine in her eyes and the smile on her face.
Suddenly recalling that Dean had spoken to her before she had started squealing, she blushed slightly before nodding in the affirmative. "More than likely, yes, Dean, that is your hacker. Someday it'll look similar to Aiko - just different colors, of course!"
Tilting her head and pursing her lips, she gave a grin before asking, "So does anyone have anymore questions?" She hoped Aiko's cute behavior would convince the others that hackers were all right, making her job a lot easier. If it did, she would really have to thank the boy Kristian somehow for being so nice.

"I... Cute?" Melee blushed and rubbed the bridge of her nose, bemused but not entirely displeased. "I..." Noticing Adalia's distraction, she peered down at Kristian's palm and unconsciously gripped the laptop more securely in her outstretched hands. She didn't react, but the boy's halting speech made her a little less self-conscious.
The hacker - Aiko, her mind supplied - seemed to have the intelligence of a young child. "Amazing," she breathed, craning her head to get a better look. Adalia was practically bouncing in her seat beside her, chattering excitedly as though the tiny black and purple creature could understand perfectly what she was saying. Melee had heard of AI of course, but to such an extent...? And she apparently had one of these? She looked down at her machine with renewed interest.
"Is- Ah, supposing that I have an egg like Dean's..." She looked over at him, smiling slightly. "Is there some way to - to-" What was the word? Reget? Rescue? "To retrieve what it has eaten? I have important things... Disappeared." She stopped before she could embarrass herself further, turning to Adalia with an imploring expression.

Thankful the attention was on the hacker and not himself, Kristian let Aiko do most of the talking. She seemed to relish in the attention anyway.
Realizing she was in the spotlight, Aiko did another backflip before pleasantly greeting the customers surrounding Kristian.
Giggling at being called "awesome" she strutted across the screen, quite pleased with herself. Turning her attention to Adalia, she nodded in the affirmative.
Her excitement was clear as her eyes brightened the more she spoke. Remembering they hadn't come to play, though, she gave a small blush.
Giving everyone a quick wave, Aiko retreated back into her chess game. Excited to finish it, though wishing it had been a better time to play.
Sitting back down, happy to be out of the spotlight, Kristian hoped he'd helped Adalia explain hackers well.

Dean smiles softly, moving back to take a seat for a moment. Leaned slightly forward with his hands on his knees, Dean looks toward Adalia and recounts what he believes to be the basics, "So, they eat data and once they hatch, you can teach them what you want them to eat... Apparently, they're very advanced." He looks to his laptop case and smiles. This might be fun... and maybe even useful. Dean gives an awkward smile, moving a hand to the back of his head as he stands up. "S-s-sorry," he stutters a bit. "I have work shortly, so I'll need to leave. I think I understand and I'll come back when it hatches, if that's okay?"

Grinning at the girl next to her, Adalia couldn't help but want to giggle at her mannerisms. Lightly ruffling up the girl's hair, she nodded in the affirmative, "Yes. Cute." With a small laugh, at how everyone was reacting to Aiko, she was pleased with how Kristian had brought her. Even without realizing it, Aiko had been a huge help just by being her childish self.
Not sure if she should thank Kristian or if that would make him more uncomfortable, she settled for patting his arm gently and turning a charming smile in his direction.
Slightly startled when Dean recounts what she said, she nods. "Yup, they are!" Laughing a little, though it quickly turned to a pout as Dean got up to leave, she sighed. She had just been starting to have fun, but it looked like things were going to slow down from here.
Smiling up at him she reflected that he behaved sort of like her brother did, just...not in a manner that scared her. "I would love to meet your hacker after it hatches!"
