Blood Berry was so lost in his thoughts he didn't notice Mie-yu until she was all but crushing him with a fierce feline hug.
"Phew.... Please don't scare me like that, i thought you had been taken...." he heard her sigh in relief as she stretched and then sat down beside him. He had not realized that she would get so worried not finding him beside her, but being the clever little fellow he was he should had thought about that. Having lived all by himself on the barren outskirts of the Island, he knew all to well the dangers that the darkness brought out for a small kit such as himself. There were many a night he had to dodge a Horned Screechy or run from a Fang Tumbler. He leaned toward her and gave her cheek a small apology lick as she sleepily watching the night landscape outside the cave entrance.
He heard her chuckle and say, "So little one, it surprises me how your up so early with so much curiosity flared in your eyes."
"Sorry," he said sheepishly, "I guess I should have mentioned that I seldom sleep all night. I guess whatever clan I from likes the darkness because that's when I feel the most alive."
He gave her an affectionate nuzzle and pointed with a tiny paw toward the center of the island, "I was looking over there and wondering what goes on. I've noticed that it seems to be important to other Sitara. They all seem to gravitate to the Big Tree. Is it a village or something?"
