well....i dont really think it's worth it now...since the information on it is almost a year old...and FFXI has had a lot of updates since then @.@; The WS chart is pretty good but they dont really have the higher level SCs on there gonk And their tips about job combos....*shrug*, are kinda weird. You will see things like...."Galka WHM is pretty good because they have a lot of HP...better survivability." But hey, it's just my opinion >.>;

Update:
a friend of mine looked through the Guide around the holidays as did I...our verdict:
Completely useless unless you do not have a computer, really want to blow your money on something, and have absolutely no idea how to use a computer or playstation 2 and the concept of looking it up online or asking someone eludes you.

It includes:
-- completely useless info on jobs and what they should do as if they must tell you (yes, warriors tend to hit things with weapons...great to know that)
-- how to make macros if people don't explain it to you for free
-- and EXTREMELY incomplete quest guide
-- an incomplete crafting guide which, oddly enough, is outshined by free crafting guides online, also tells you where the main guilds are...when you could look at a map and see that yourself or just ask someone
-- a connection map which is less complete than free ones online
-- a guide on how to type basic commands (which is great, but honestly one doesn't need to be a genius to figure out how to emote or put up an invite flag when people will tell you how to do it for free, plus which is also listed in the owners manual for the game)
-- a guide on how to use playonline...in case pressing labeled buttons is hard for you (again, if reading the instruction book that came with the disc is hard for you)

Both of us having played the game for a grand total of a month before looking at it were astounded that anyone could find it worthwhile (since everything in it and more are available for free online).

So yes, in addition to doing fine at playing without it, two newer but proficient players think the guide is just kind of silly to invest money in. We use websites, they're better and update more. You want a good guide, go to Allakhazam.
