I can't go to church, we don't have time.

How do I show God that I love Him?

How do I tell him I am devoted to him.

Ad, yes, I would make time, but it really isn't up to me.

I am disabled and can't work and my wife is clinically depressed and has difficulty finding work. I frequently don't make it to church simply because I'm in too much pain and our pews make it worse. Likewise my wife often doesn't make it to church because she has to work so we can pay the bills. God loves us anyway.

Fortunately, God doesn't live in church buildings; he's everywhere. As Christians we host the Holy Spirit within our bodies which gives us a direct line to God. We can pray, sing, read scripture, or talk and fellowship with other Christians (either in real life or online) anytime.

Church is not a requirement for Christianity but it helps. I find that my is much smoother and I am much happier whenever I get my batteries recharged by my church family.

I've always found that the best way to show your devotion to God is to love and serve others the best you can, and in what's left of your free time, pray to him and let him know what you want to tell him. Those are the best ways I can think of.

Depending on how old you are, see if your church has a youth group. If its on a day when you do have time, see if your parents, older siblings, or a friend can give you a ride. Thats what I'm envolved with right now. My family moved to a new town in June and we havent found a church yet.

The other two replies are valuble as well. Very valuble.

maybe a prayer group or a bible group ?? you just have to find a really devoted group of christians that would do bible studies with you. its surely better than not going to worship with fellow christians and i found there is a feeling of powerfulness from such when a big group of christians worship GOD. i could just feel it and its a great feeling.

Well, probably the best thing to do for now, is to keep praying about it. Also keep a consistent prayer life. I have found that praying right before and after I go to sleep has really helped my walk a lot. This way you will always have God close you your heart, even when you can enjoy the fellowship of Christians. In time you situation should change and you'll be able to go to church again, just never give up hope and never stop praying.

Good suggestion.

I didn't have a church when I was a student in Raleigh, NC. Instead I was part of the Baptist Student Union and InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. Both groups had weekly worship services on campus.

IVCF also hosted smallgroup Bible studies throughout the week. My dorm didn't have one but it was a short walk to the one that did. That smallgroup helped me more than anything else. We would study and discuss scripture, sing songs, do missions together, and just hang out.

You can always get together with your Christian friends and start a smallgroup of your own. InterVarsity Press has several good books on starting and leading smallgroups. They're not very expensive and you can find them in most church libraries and even some public libraries.

I think it may help to remember that church is not a place to which we go but a people to whom we belong. There are several members of my church that are physically unable to assemble with the church but we are committed to go to those people. The church maintains consistent and regular contact with them. I would recommend talking with your pastor and making sure that he is aware of your circumstances. I pray that your church family will stand with you.
