I remember in second grade when I was so proud to be able to read this one particular book in the alotted time we had for daily reading.

I generally don't put down my books once I've started. A good book, about 400 pages will take me about 5-6 hours, depending on font size and the pace the author gives the tale.

I like to take my time through thick novels.. so when I'm pacing myself, normally a week or less. Smaller books are finished within a few days, if not hours.

I can read quickly, I just don't like doing it. I prefer to read leisurely and really savour a book. Devouring a light novel is fine but a really good book requires some digestion.

I got Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows at midnight when it came out and had finished it by noon the next day (would have been earlier but my elder sister made me go to bed...)

I'm a pretty fast reader, though how fast depends on how interesting the book is. The more boring I find it, the longer it takes me to read it; The Scarlet Letter, for example.
With books I enjoy, like the seventh Harry Potter book, I finished it in about 10 hours with several ranting breaks.

As a rule I normally read two to ten books at a time. When I devote time to just one book. I can finish off a five to six hundred page book in about a half hour.

I am capable of - though it is a very rare occurance - reading a 500 page book in one sitting. However, for this to take place, that one sitting will generally last about ten hours with few, if any, breaks.

About 100 pages in an hour, perhaps a little more. I used to go a book a day in high school; I would read a two hundred to five hundred page book during the school day and then go do other things. College has kinda slowed me down though because I have so much assigned reading that's insanely boring that I feel guilty for picking up books for pleasure. ^^;; Most of their books take me two minutes a page. It's annoying. >.<
