"Aye, that he is. Patient, too." He seemed to put up with her lack of understanding, specifically of things she should know like 'stage fright' and other random, obvious words. He made her feel alot more confident about her precarious position in life. She wasn't sure if Lucrezia was joking, but spoke of Charlot nevertheless, "He tried to help carry one of these." She pointed at the larger duo of metallic globes with a broad grin, still amused by his stubbornness after she'd handed it over to him.

"The world hopping... it is quite odd. Does the Cirque revisit worlds often?" It would not be good for her home to be the next stop. "I am from London, England in the year 2007, but I've heard my time is much different then others. Jo knew of London, but things are much different in my London than in his. What of yourself?"

"Oui?" asked Lucrezia, raising an eyebrow at the mention of Charlot and the massive metal sphere. "And how did that go over?" Charlot was certainly strong - he had, after all, managed to lift her up to the practice grid the first time they'd met - but the orbs were awkward.

"I don't know how often it revisits words," frowned Lucrezia, "I come from the city of Rome, sometime around the year 1500, but the details seem to confuse people. Evidement, things in my world are not as they are in most. I wouldn't go as far as thinking it revisits places often, and it is certainly possible it doesn't revisit some places at all."

Aemilia's concept of time was fuzzy. Being that she hadn't really lived all that much of her life, she didn't understand just how long of a difference half a millenium was. She did her best, however, eyes widening slightly as she looked at Lucrezia. It was mostly because she wasn't sure how this strange young woman wanted her to react. "1500? I can imagine things would be diff'rent then."

She appeared to be unphased by the question about Charlot, kneeling slightly to set the ball she'd been holding back on the ground. She shrugged, "Well enough, all thin's considered. He's no strongman, but he tried his best like a true gentleman." She smiled but offered nothing else, she was still not completely at ease. This girl seemed so friendly one moment and completely closed the next. Amee was at a loss on how to act.

"Different like you wouldn't believe," laughed Lucrezia, standing up in the net and bouncing a few times. "I grew up in a cirque, but I got here and - wow!"

She turned a somersault back onto the floor. "This rigging, this tent, this equipment - it's an aerialist's wet dream."

She watched the girl bouncing on the net, unsure about how she would feel about being that high up, much less higher judging by the ropes and like above. She didn't understand aerial jargon, but she had a general idea. "Technology much the same? Things are so much simpler here than in my time."

Her lips had pursed as she'd spoken, but her expression slowly changed to that of utter confusion. Don't misunderstand - Amee knew enough about sexual lingo to get by and flirt sufficiently, but she was definitely missing some things. For example, a wet dream. She understood the dream part, but missed where the 'wet' business came apart. Despite her expression, however, she didn't verbally alert her confusion. This girl seemed as if she might be impatient with explaining such things, "Ah, I'm no aerialist, but I'm guessin' it's all splendid, then?"

"Splendid and then some," enthused Lucrezia. She perched on the edge of the net and looked down at Aemilia. For all the girl's cluelesness, she was starting to like her.

"So, you were thinking about doing a strongman act once you're no longer what was it... resident cage cleaner? D'you know how to get out of that spot?" She was smirking, an I-know-something-you-don't-know sort of a twinkle taking up residence in her eyes.

Simpler and yet... not. She gave a half-smile at the girl's obvious enjoyment of the equipment available to her those of her profession. As stated, Aemilia knew nothing about it, but she could empathesize with Lucrezia's enjoyment of it.

She did laugh at the question, not an arrogant or impatient laugh, but of genuine, soft amusement. It wasn't bawdy or even very loud at all, but it wasn't a quiet twitter either. "Cage cleaner, aye, that's it. But no, not what I planned on doin' with my time." She rested her toe against one of the globes absently, watching the joints bend through the shoe before giving a brief explanation, "Of sorts. More of juggling, but without the whole.. in the air bit." It wasn't coming out right. "The balls aren't going t'leave my skin, but they'll be moving. O'er m'back, down m'arms, the like. To begin with. Would like to add more light and bigger props later on if I can." She peered at the smirk, lips curling slightly, "'fraid I don't, but I'd be curious t'know."

"Well," said Lucrezia, leaning in towards the girl, "You've gotta get yourself a mentor. That'd be a senior cast member like myself or Scarlett or Aiden or our dear Friend Charlot, if that's what floats your boat." She rolled over and dangled her head off the net so she was looking at Aemilia upside down.

"The important thing," she said, "Is that they've got connections. They can get you performance time and practice spaces and props and costume equipment and show you the ropes."

"And, if you like," she continued, hooking her arms into the net and flipping over, "That could be me."

Aemilia stared as the girl played about on the net, though it was hardly more than polite interest expressed in her round eyes. A brow was arched, however, wondering if this was some big scheme to make fun of her. But as the girl flipped over the net and finished, both brows rose as she broke out into a smile once again. No, the girl was offering herself as a mentor. That was a strange developement.

Ignoring all the rest, Amee peered at her, "I wouldn't mind it, but would you?" The switches between cold exterior and warmth had dutifully confused Ames into not really trusting much at the moment.

Lucrezia let go of the net and dropped into a crouch on the floor, and then stood. "Hey, from what I've seen of the strongman stuff and the vanishing, you've got me interested. You're not as dumb as I thought you were at first, too. I'd like to see you make it around here, and I'm willing to help."

"Alors," she said, sticking out a hand, "What do you say? Mentor and mentee? Does that sound good to you?"

It wouldn't hurt, surely. And Aiden had said she was in need of one. Finally, laughing quietly, she took the offered hand to shake it gently. "Sounds good. Glad you don't think I'm as dumb 'nymore."

She fixed him with a humored smile, amused by this performer and her confidence in herself. It was refreshing. Amee wasn't sure whether to feel humbled, or inspired by this sort of interaction, but either way she was amused. "Tho', y'know, I could still surprise y'with what I don't know about this place."

"That's probably true," said Lucrezia with some sort of grim humor to her voice. "Are you set up with a place to sleep yet? I mean, something that's not between a canvas and a box of makeup in a prop car somewhere?"

She shifted from foot to foot. "It's getting late, isn't it? The cook tent's probably serving dinner. You ought to go eat and I'll see you in a day or so to work on things, okay? Think of questions."

She smiled again and crossed towards the stands where she retrieved a pair of thin shoes and slipped them on. "Sound good?"

"Aye. A little trailer, s'quaint." She grinned before nodding in agreement, "Food sounds like a grand idea, actually." Hefting up the metal globes into either hand, she managed a balance with the largest hooked beneath an arm and the other two held awkwardly in either hand.

"Was good t'meet you, Lucrezia." Dipping her head, she shrugged carefully, "I will think of as many as I can and look for you soon." With that, she offered a parting smile before turning out of the tent. Practice could come later, her stomach really was beginning to growl.
