It's not just fuel on cars that's the problem though. Think about how much pollution is created by making cars. And since they're not really designed to last that long... On another note, carpooling or biking/walking is a great idea if you live someplace where that's possible. I live in an area where everything is very spread out (the suburbs in Michigan) and it's just not possible for me to bike anywhere and I really can't carpool either because my job involves me being somewhere different every day. In fact, I don't know a single family where the mom and dad don't each have their own car. Usually each kid has their own car too.

Zorlock Darksoul I've got nothing against cars themselves. It's the fuel on which they run that's causing the problem. A more appropriate argument would be against the continued use of fossil fuels. There are already cars that run on alternative fuels like ethanol, which is much less harmful to the environment. They just haven't become widely popular yet. indeed

Personally, I've already stopped using cars. Quite a long time ago actually.
I travel by foot and horseback. Yes, I know, it sounds very unusual. Where I live, it's legal to ride horses out in the city. I own 3 horses and if I have to travel long distances or if I'm in a hurry I'll use one of my horses for transportation. Most of the time I travel on foot though.
I remember 3 years ago, there was one day where it snowed up to 4 1/2 feet. Now, I haven't seen any snow for 2 years. The pollution is also bothering my horses, and my rabbits since they live outside, since I feel that it's wrong to keep a rabbit in a cage all day inside.
Well, now I'm getting off topic, but I personally am strongly against the use of cars if they're using fossil fuels that cause pollution.

i agree with alot of opinions here and yes we pollute the earth like its going outta style...but one thing is for sure we need vehicles such as cars, i mean how would we get to a hospital in an emergency?? we need to hurry up and find a way to have fuel for a car and not destroy the earth and our wallets such as garbage or something. you know back to the future was genius for the idea. razz

Fuselage Frenzy I don't believe in getting rid of cars, but finding alternatives to the fuel in which cars use. I for one, could not survive without a car. My school is about 30 miles away, and the closest bus is 10 miles. Now that I can drive, I certainly take advantage of having a car to be able to get to school. I also believe in carpooling. Many students live in the same area, but all drive in different cars to school. Schools and businesses should encourage the use of carpooling by giving those carpooling students and employees specific benefits. I don't believe we can survive without transportation, but I do believe finding alternative energy sources to fuel our vehicles will certainly help make a difference. I Definatinly Agree. Perhaps Some People Can Make A Car That Uses Polution As A Fuel = D lol Or Maybe Methane? = P

Well maybe we could at least limit our use of cars for trivial causes like going to houses only like 3 miles away, and make rivers we can swim to go places!! YEAHH!!!

Teau Should we stop useing cars? I think its polluting the world a lot more then what it did whenwe used foot or horses! I think we shouldn't be allowed to drive cars just to drive. We should only use them to get to places like work or college. Nor should we use cars for criminal acts! Am I right? Um, no. It's the fuel that pollutes the air. Cars are a lot more efficent then walking or using horses. By all means walk everywhere and come home with blisters. I'm just saying that a more fuel efficent car is what we need. And/Or a car with a non-polluting fuel. That that car that runs on grease. I'm not an eco-friendly hippie who goes around protesting that we should live off the envirorment and collect more water every time it rains but I do care about the envirorment. I would like to see the stars again.
