The scream is just unconditionally repetitive.
If there was a heavy roaring backup vocalist, it might work more like an accent, but it's like hitting a snare for twenty minutes on the same tempo, it just gets old.

ANNdrelanin Methuselan Hes like my idol... The way he sings and shreds at the same time is awsome..His ESP is wicked but no way ill b able to get it. Personally I prefer the Jacksons. So does he, but when Fender took over Jackson the custom deal was gonna take too long, so he switched.

yeah Alexi is a badass and C.O.B Kick a**..iv seen them live and was lucky enough to meet him after the show for a few minutes and get my ticket signed...one of the best ******** shows iv ever been to...they were playing with lamb of god and Thine eyes Bleed..

Alexi is pretty cool.
I like Bodom a bit, but I think for that genre, Norther has them beat by a longshot. 3nodding

I suppose Norther has more feeling in their music... if you get what I mean confused
Bodom are just there with outragous riffs and licks, but listen to Everything by Norther and it is just... I dunno, cant explain razz

Norther and Bodom are both great bands, and although I prefer Norther's style I'd say the two are pretty much on par - sometimes I'd rather hear Bodom's edgier style, it really depends what mood I'm in. certainly, it was CoB's original music that got me into this kind of metal in the first place and for a long time they were without a doubt my favourite band.
still, when it comes to Finnish melodeth there are a few other names that deserve a mention - Kalmah, Mors Principium Est and Wintersun for example. for fans of these kinds of bands, Imperanon are also an essential listen, although they're now disbanded.
anyway, back on the subject of Bodom, I'd advise big Norther fans to give their earlier work a listen, particularly the albums Hatebreder and Follow The Reaper, as they have a lot more of the kind of raw energy that early Norther has, and make quite a contrast to Bodom's later work.

Once, in May, Alexi broke his shoulder on tour. I was at one of the shows where he continued to play flawlessly through the pain. Doesn't get much more badass than that.
