Keratin [*img]http://webspace.ringling.edu/~gbahm/roamingdrome.jpg[/img] this doesn't really make the concave thing clear enough for me ^^; Perhaps if you compared my drawing to faces at a similar angle, and not profiles...because it seems to change things completely. Also, the examples between the concave man face and pretty girl face don't really even seem that different...without the lines you drew i couldn't see it, and i could draw a concave line on the girls face if i simply brought the line in from the tip of the nose, like you did with the mans. Her nose is smaller so of course it wouldn't be that drastic. And i don't see where the mouth touches at the silhouette, except in the last one, but her face is turned more towards a profile. The main difference i see is with bend in the jaw bone, which in my drawing probably should have been a bit lower and further from the ear.  What?: I don't know.. ah. confused. i'm naive enough to think that was flattery ; ; heart

Well, here goes. I believe Goat over there and I see different problems with her chin. Not that I'm not aware of the problem he has with it, he makes a good point, but I don't think it's really the crux of the problem with her chin (not that it's a huge deal anyway, I do have to give a little credit to style, but sometimes it's best to adapt style to anatomy. Did I already say that? I don't remember.)  That's what I got out of her face. I don't really have a problem with her having an unusually concave face, she could always just be Jennifer Aniston, I guess. My issue was with the fact that her chin is lumped very noticeably onto one side of her face, and I don't think it has to be that way. crying

So basically the chin just falls a little off center. it seems like this could be adjusted a number of ways, either by changing the position/size of the mouth or nose (to change the location of the center line).
However, as you can see, that's hard to do without changing the look of her face entirely, as in the fourth image. I myself don't prefer the round chipmunk cheeks, and really just wanted to exaggerate finer more prominent features.
Next time i'll know to try and keep the chin centered. I guess looking at my own drawing, i didn't realize it was THAT distracting.

under these circumstances i'd probably just put it down to personal style. i dunno. the chin doesn't really bother me as is.
EDIT
actually i think what's making it pop out at people is there's a little line of shadow on her chin that follows the line of her necklace and kind of makes it look like there's some extra chin going on.
aside from that, i think it's still fine.

In response to Keratin, you've obviously spotted a lot in reference photographs, but you've missed out on three important things.
First, in the drawing her jaw is extended away from her neck, that straitens the line between the ear and underside of the jaw making it longer.
Two, although the jaw protrudes and the face is concave, it's a drawing of a character of strength, and is comparable to an amazon or cave woman, to accentuate this the artist made her more masculine.
Three, artistic interpretation, in areas such as this you can be as free as you like as long as it's pleasing for the artist what should they care if it's not to your liking.
If you had an artists eye you'd have immediately looked at her left thumb because the perspective of it protruding is unusual.
