Today I was sitting in my language arts classroom and was just looking around the room. My teacher has a poster of different book titles, and I noticed that one of the books was Gulliver's Travels. Do you think that Gulliver from ACWW got his name from this book, since he's always traveling throughout space? I know that some of the other characters have clever names, like the chicken named Benedict and the sheep named Baabara.
Oh, I bet most people already know this, but sometimes if you talk to Gulliver after you give him all of the parts of his ship, he'll mention that fox and the robot-looking thing that can roll into a ball from Super Smash Brothers (I forgot their names. sweatdrop ).

Yes, Gulliver is named after the classic work of literature.
Most of the characters' names are puns in some way. "Tom Nook" sounds like "tanuki," a raccoon animal. There are dozens of other examples among the neighbors... I can't even name them all without looking through a list...
There's a bird guy named "Pierce" whose catchphrase is "hawkeye." ...I don't know how many other members here are old enough to catch that one. sweatdrop

Cucco Kid Cat-- "Kid rock"? o_o Sounds more like the candy bar to me. You know... Kit Kats.
I didn't think of the Waddle Dee connection, though, even though Bunnie has lived in my town... twice... That's a pretty creative observation. 3nodding
