I've always thought that Ozai would look like Zuko, only older and with no scar. Much like how Azula bears a resemblence to her mother, but slightly different.

Gotta say though...Dang!!!! Ozai is Freakin Hot!!!!!! No wonder Zuko is so yummy on the eyes. He gets it all from Daddy!!!

And now that moment is over. Ozai does look like a very nice and decent guy. Having him look so normal would really throw anyone off.

Yeah i think it was the point the writers were aiming for. Everyone was expecting him to look REALLY evil, but they DON'T wont to be predictable then that would be boring! And if Ozai was evil looking, i'd find it slightly anti-climatic and like someone said corny.

I was totally expecting this evil-looking dude, with all the hard lines and everything.

Different reactions (in order):
1. eek - This guy doesn't look evil! He's the one who gave Zuko his scar?!
2. wink - Dang, he's kinda cute.
3. mad - Wait a minute, he scarred his son! Bad Ozai!

Just think of all of the bad things he's done though.
An appearance doesn't change any of that.
All this has done is shown us that he loves his family, at least to some extent.
Maybe business and stuff comes first, but he can be gentle too.
He has two different personalities.
In the end, he's a lot like Azula.
Innocent when he needs or wants to be, but evil at almost all times.

I was glad he wasn't old and stuff.
If he was old, it would pose an easier battle for Aang (unless he's like Bumi).
The battle they have has to be enormous.
I guess he and Iroh are far apart in age, too.
His resemblance to Iroh also might pose a problem for Aang too.
Especially if Iroh teaches Aang to bend fire.

I'm also glad he's a bit handsome.
It's like Zuko. You see both sides of the story.
Sure, the Fire Lord isn't going to start giving Aang cookies, but we get to see that the bad guy isn't always...
You know what I'm going on about here, right?

I don't think Azula nor her father are ever innocent. I think the Fire Lord is just a lion in sheep's clothing. I think it would have been great if he had a scar just like Zuko's.

I believe it is "Wolf in Sheeps clothing."

But, I was saying, they can act innocent. Like Azula in the first episode, giving Zuko the credit for the Avatar's "murder".
Underneath though, overall, both of them are evil.
And, yes, it's a wolf, not a lion.

Has anybody played Lunar: eternal blue complete (for PS)

You see during the whole game you just hear the voice of the evil god powerful enough to have Althena destroy the blue star (earth) and move humans to Lunar (the moon) And you just hear this badass voice and never see anything. Then at the end you finally see him face to face and you get this:

So when I saw him I fell off my bed and died of laughter. My best friend had the same reaction. It just didn't fit what we were expecting. And if you read comments from lunar boars or old lunar fanfics you'll see everyone has the same reaction.

Now, while the firelord didn't have me falling off my bed in laughter he truly was something I wasn't expecting.

I thought he'd be some big bad scary ******** guy, you know?
The last two seasons we get this kinda foreboding shadow over him.
Now? He looks about as threatening as a kitten.
