Is marijuana used for covering the symptoms of withdraw yet?
I do believe it should be, if it hasn't already yet.

Withdrawl from what?
The thing is, when we're talking about physical addictions and withdrawl from them, there's a chemical balance that's upset and causing the symptoms; treatment depends on the addiction. Like methadone being used to get someone off heroin. Problem with treatment drugs, though, is that replacing the heroin (or whatever) with something similar enough to ease the withdrawl tends to result in bringing about another addiction.
But... well, I think I see what you're saying, though -- that a person who's not in a treatment clinic could smoke herb instead of some harder drug? In that case, I say from personal experience: sure. It eases the anxiety, helps you keep things in perspective, and so on. I can't say it'd do the trick for everyone, with any addiction, but I think it'd take the edge off most psychological addictions.
