I dunno I put the white shirt on, then the red jacket, but when I click the brown one the red on just disappears.

Ah, it's just a layering issue. Happens to me all the time. xd You could see if the mods can correct it in the "avatar" forum found on the main page forum.

So of course once I get a stable amount of money back some cool stuff becomes available and I'm pretty sure I'm going to end up spending all of my gold to get some of these items. Such is life eh?
