Seer had to scoot a bit away from Igni when he started his firey antics. Hot... for her? Little too hot for her. She didn't feel like getting singed. Igni was really quite silly.

Then Aear appeared and Seer smiled brightly. "Aear!" Though his posture and tone of voice confused her... She knew he felt protective of her, but something seemed a bit different this time around. What? Still she didn't really want either her friend/father figure or her new acquaintance getting into a tussle or hurt because of a silly game...

"He's just playing around. I think. He's being awfully silly, anyway." She turned to give Igni a curious look. "You were playing around, weren't you?" Ah... not naive exactly. Just innocent and maybe a little on the dense side when it came to matters of this particular nature.

Igniculus was about to continue his rambling of compliments to the female when the interruption came. He promptly doused out the fire from his wings with a mere flick of them and a thought, his expression souring as he heard the other creature growl. He glanced up at him - immediately noting the colour of his feathers, and briefly wondered to himself if the newcomer was gifted with water-elemental abilities. That wouldn't bode well for him at all.

"Hmph," He said airily, "And so, a challenger appears. How I do hate interruptions." The firesprite raised the hair on his back, then idly flicked a bang out of face, not seeming to notice that it flopped back into the same place soon after. "Relax," He said finally, shrugging. He slowly shook his head, then smirked. "Are you her body guard or something? I'm not going to harm her if that's what you're worried about. Don't get your tail fur in a twist."

He winked at Seer, finally. "Playing around? No - I speak nothing but truth, my dear. What-say you an' I ditch this guy and fly off somewhere?"

At Seer's happy greeting there was a clear shift in the male. A softening of face, a quirk of smile, a relaxing of his tails into a soft sway behind him. How had he helped raise someone so wonderfully pure & innocent?

"Playing?" Aear quirked a brow glancing between the two. Then lightly touched his muzzle to the underside of the female's chin. "Don't worry Lass... I'll not fight yer friend, if I can help it."

As long as he remained only a friend. Then. "Aye. Lad. Aye, ye could say that." He did not specify whether her was commenting on the challenger reference or the actual question posed. Russet eyes regarded this other as if reading him. Too much like himself.

"Some have a different notion of what may 'harm' lad... & I'd see none o' it." Suddenly Aear had a very strong feeling of what Chaos must have been feeling when they had that 'chat' while Danny slept. Only... Neptune's Beard! He should not be feeling these things for Seer.

Huffing softly the sailor quipped a smile. He'd like to see this fellow try and 'ditch' him as he had said. Just let him try.

Suddenly Seer felt very much out of her depth. She could almost taste the tension, almost see the secret, and very male feeling messages being sent back and forth between the two. She shifted nervously, though she relaxed just a bit when Aear bumped her chin reassuringly. Suddenly she was very confused...

What where they talking about? Igni didn't want to hurt her... did he? They'd just met and he'd been nice so far. Oh... Wait, what? He was serious?! ... D8 Now she really felt uncomfortable. When he asked her to ditch Aear though she balked. "But he helped raise me and he's one of my best friends, why would I want to ditch him?" Really... Igni was nice but... seriously, she just met him. She wouldn't have ditched Aear even if she wasn't starting to suspect he was hoping for... yeah. She fidgeted slightly. >< This had just gotten akward enough without the death glares being shot over her head.

Igniculus puffed out his chese, feeling both his sense of bravado and ego rise. He narrowed his eyes at the male, before tilting his head slightly, a broad amused smirk growing on his face.

"Heh." He said sharply. "Imma gonna say this again - I have no intentions of harming the chicca. No need to get all defensive and uppitty just because of my presence. You're not about to go condeming me as a bad-force simply because I exist, are you?" He sat back on his hinds, folding his paws. "That would be rather... poor judgement on your behalf."

He waggled his eyebrows at Seer a moment, before indicating behind him with a paw. "Friend, ey? Being friends ain't going to get you nowhere. I can offer you more than friendship - I can offer you the world, a lifetime of devotion and care." He stood on his hinds and formally bowed, flaring his wings out as far as they would go. He did his best to look magestic, large, intimidating, and powerful. If he could outimpress the other male, perhaps she would be interested in him afterall.

"I am the lord of the fire element, and I am in need of a queen." He straightened himself upright again, giving Seer the biggest toothy grin he could manage. He was bragging now, but... all part of trying to impress and win her over, right?

"And who better to rule at my side, than a gorgeous phoenix like yourself?"
PostPosted: Thu Sep 06, 2007 9:23 pm

Aear simply looked at the other male, brow arched, and shook his head. At least at the fiery male's puffed out chest and -to him- silly looking expression.

Though there was the briefest flash of discomfort to flash in his eyes as Seer said he had helped to raise her more clear was the smile that came when she called him one of her best friends. If that was all they could have beyond their odd father-daughter relationship Aear would content himself with that.

But then the other male started speaking again. Oh, AearHwesta did not find him a bad sort. In truth, had they met under other situations the sailor would probably find his company quite amicable. But it was not other situations. It was this one. Aear saw far too much of himself in this young upstart, and that did not make him happy. To say the very least. Flashing an aching glance that might have been in apology at Seer AearHwesta faced the other male. His voice was level & dangerous. As if he was not showing his hand at all yet but had complete faith in it. "If ye just be meetin' as I s'pect ye be, ye'd best nay be offering what I think ye be offering to the lass."

A small pause. "At least ye've got the gorgeous part down, but I be knowing the many powers of a flattering word. Stand ye down. Seer's nay fer the like of ye & I."

Seer looked back at Aear during that brief glance. No, she didn't want them to have to fight... though at the moment she was almost glad for Aear's protection. Suddenly Igni's previously silly antics almost seemed intimidating. And what he said... she couldn't help shaking her head. "What would I want with a whole world? I enjoy it just fine right now, and I don't think I'd like the responsibility of owning it..."

And when one owned everything... what else was there to look forward to and strive for? All you'd have to do was tell some slave to do it and she wasn't the sort to enjoy that kind of thing. She liked to do things herself... and friends rather than servants.

Aear's comment about her not being for the likes of either of them caught her attention though. What?... What was going on? What was Aear talking about?

Igni's eyes were narrowed, now. No cheesy grin, no amusement. He made a loud huffy snort, and ruffled his wing feathers in aggitation, tails swaying behind him. He began to stomp on his hinds, lowering his head, locking his gaze on the blue male, trying to look intimidating.

"Who are you to judge what I should and shouldn't be offering?" He growled, ears flicking in his annoyance. "Are you the opinion police or something?" He made a loud snorting sound, glowering. "I'm not going to listen to you, and neither should the pretty lady."

"Stand down? I? No way, good sir." He finally growled, baring his teeth. "Give the lady her own free will to decide what the hell she wants - let her make the decision to tell me to go away or not. She need only say the word, and I will fly off out of her sight forever. But you sir? Your words hold as much to me as water in a sieve."

He did not seem at first to notice Igni for a moment, a look of 'what have I said?' flickering like a terror behind his russet eyes as his 'daughter's' attention fell on him. "I shouldn't'a said that..." AearHwesta muttered, ducking his head.

Then it seemed he remembered the fiery youth, lifting his head and arching a brow at the challenging display. His ears went back watching the other growl & glower. He stood fast and sturdy, no more intimidated of this male than he would be a small squall -which was little. Actually, if anything the sailor looked irritated and a trifle bored. "I be one who knows, Lad. And I didn't say ye had te leave though ye'd been talkin' 'bout ditchin' me. Nay, only that ye stand down." Now Aear bared his teeth, eyes narrowing. "Though if ye don't then ye might force me to more than words, Lad."

Russet eyes flicked to Seer and instantly the sailor softened, heart guilty and looking quite pained. "Ah... Seer. Lass. Ye must know I'd nay want to interrupt ye makin' friends but..." The embarrassed 'deer in headlights' look was back and AearHwesta quickly looked away unable to look at her as his heart flashed briefly in his eyes. Then it was gone, his russet gaze returning to lock on the violet eyes of the fiery male.

Seer looked mortified at Igni's last words, mixed emotions and confusion causing her stutter through her reply. "B-b-but I j-just m-met you! H-how c-c-can I d-decide t-to t-tell you to g-go away? I don't know you well enough t-to... t-to make either of those decisions! Why w-would I d-ditch Aear for you OR t-tell you to g-go away?!" She'd been having fun, making a new friend, and now she was just confused and no little bit frightened. Were Igni and Aear fighting over her? Was Aear just protecting her? Why did everything suddenly feel so akward? She wrapped both front paws and wings over her face and whined. This was supposed to be a nice day!

Igniculus sat back on his hinds, making an irritated huffing noise now. He began to idly groom a paw, looking utterly unimpressed.

"Fine, don't leave then. If that's all you're concerned about, then stay as long as you like, be my guest." He flicked his ears back. "I can stand down on that aspect. Relax, old timer."

He raised his head, attention turning to Seer. "It's pretty easy to tell somebody to go away if you don't want em around any more, darling." He nodded. "You have a heart, and a good mind. Use them." He lowered his head again, beginning to preen his feathers. They didn't need preening and even he knew it, but for now they served as a good distraction.

That older male was angry, and if he was the younger female's guardian, he had every right to be. Igni's advances had been fun, and he had flattered the female, but he knew it was probably time to call it quits. He wasn't going to gain anything if he continued.

Aear broke, seeing Seer like that. He did not even appear to hear anything the other male said or see what he was doing. In fact, it was as if Igni was not there. Seer's stutter, then her whine drew AearHwesta too her, his entire countenance being one of comfort and grief. "Ahh... Lass..." If his heart was on his figurative sleeve as he turned to her, trying to dip his muzzle around wings to nuzzle and comfort Aear would not know. "Seer-lass... I'm sorry. Please be forgiving me, Lass. I should ne'er be so brash..."

And yet he knew where it to happen again he would probably react the same way. AearHwesta hung his head in shame. He could never speak of it... never admit it... and yet it seemed he could not fully control it either. If his heart were not in the way... would he have handled this differently? Well for one thing he would have said he was her father. With how he felt... Aear could not say that.

Seer shook for a moment before peeking out from behind wing and beneath paw. "I-I-I just... he asked me to say if I wanted him to go away or go with him, and I d-don't... I like him too much so far to ask him to away forever but I don't like him enough to go with him. I just met him today! And you're trying to protect me I know but... nothing like this ever happened before and I don't know what's going on!" She almost wailed that last bit. She sat there for a few more moments before getting wobbily to her feet. "I-I think maybe I sh-should be the one to go... I'm g-gonna go to that spot I l-like and play in the s-sand or something..." That would be safe, right? She never met anyone there, except maybe her friend Akil, since she'd shown him where it was. And Akil was safe... ><

Igniculus furrowed his brow, glaring hard at the blue male now.

"Tsk tsk," He chided. "See what you've done now? You made the precious lady upset. First you don't give the lady some free will to decide for herself, then you make her cry. If you're just telling me to go away because you think I'm going to harm her, you're sadly mistaken." He snorted aggressively. "But if you're telling me to go away so you can have her all to yourself?" He stood on his hinds, tail fur bristled. "That's the lowest strategy I've ever heard! At least have the decency to tell me first!!" He stomped his hinds, before turning on his heels.

He bowed his head in apology to the young female, sighing. "No miss, you don't have to leave. This blue bozo here is obviously threatened by my presence, and utterly dissaproving of me being around you. So yeah, I don't think he wants us to be friends, or together at all. I guess I'm the one going to be taking off. Always on the losing end. I'm tired of it."

He flared out his wings, then thrust them downwards, launching himself into the air. He flapped hard, ascending higher and higher, before finally using the wings to thrust himself forwards.

"I bid good day to you."

A few moments later, the firesprite was high in the air, and soon a speck on the horizon, leaving behind only a few burning feathers on the ground behind him.

Aear was stunned, not knowing how to react, not knowing what to say. He was nodding dumbly to Seer, an ache in his heart that he did not want to acknowledge...

And then he tilted his head in bafflement at the fiery male. Had he not told this young upstart that not once had he told the youth to leave? And when had he tried to make Seer's decisions for her? Had he tried to make her decisions for her? All he had intended to do was keep the other male from getting to close to her.... wasn't it? After all... AearHwesta wanted her to have friends.

As for strategy... what strategy? Russet eyes flickered uncertainly without focusing anywhere. Nay, the sailor had acted without any strategy or goal... more impulse than thought. His brow ridges lifted one after the other in confusion. His body resonated with the feeling. He was in uncharted waters, the sky held no navigating stars or landmarks to go by, and the wind.... it stilled around him.

His look of confusion went to Seer before watching the other male disappear into the sky. "But... I ne'er told the lad ter go away..." Yes that was the thing he could comment on. For the fiery kitsu's comment about 'wanting her all to yourself' had the sailor unable to meet Seer's lovely eyes. Aye... nay. Nay. He would not let himself think about it. It was not possible. And Seer deserved better. Nay... he was right to interfere. Seer said herself they had only just met. With that in mind the young upstart was certainly getting to close, too fast. Aear had done the right thing.

Russet eyes closed. He hoped.
