The Marines' saying, as most know, is: "The few, the proud, the Marines." However, I decided this could go for the Army with a few key-word changes:
"The over-populated, the under-trained, the Army."
The boring story behind the saying:
One day at boot camp, my brother's friend was sent a package by his brother. In this package was a horrible joke. Everything he needed to make a meth lab was inside the box, along with a letter. The DI (or whoever) watched him take out the things in the box demanded the boy read the letter. The contained the words:
"Ha, ah. I hope you have to do so many push-ups/pull-ups/ect.
I hope you get in so much trouble..."
And it went on. However, at the very end of the letter it read, "The few, the proud, the Army."
My brother's friend got sand boxed for an hour and a half or so.
To a responce of this, my sister said she send my brother all sorts of things like that when he was at boot camp. I told him I wouldn't, however... I would finish my letters to him with this, "The over-populated, the under-trained, the Army."
He appreciated my Marine support.
