"Huh." That was about the only thing Phoenix could say at first. He stared at the younger Kitsusagi, seeming quite confused. "He was dead, and... then he came back?" Phoenix stood back and shook his head. Things like that was only the stuff of science fiction... right? "How does that actually work?"
"Well, uh, maybe you might be able to do some magic as you get older?" He offered, grinning. "Young boys grow into strong men, maybe you just need to give it some time. I don't have any powers like that, myself. But I was a really little wimpy kid once. I grew up." He chuckled. "And then I became a Defense Attorney. Now I'm here, I guess."
"I was kinda lonely before I arrived here," Phoenix had to admit. "But I'm... I'll be alright. I don't need anyone right now. Besides, uh..." He lowered his ears. "I don't think I could find somebody even if I wanted to. Something bad happened to me once and well, I'm not really interested any more."
He gave the younger Kitsusagi a grin, wanting to steer away from the subject. "So if you're not lost, what are you doing out here anyway? Exploring?"

Whisper looked at Phoenix, as though he'd just sprouted another wing out the top of his head. Then, after a minute or two, he let out a sigh "He said he thinks he was murdered in his human life, and he came back as one of us....unfortunately he still remembers his human life, and death...." he said with a confident nod.
Whisper had never really bothered to imagine what another world might be like, like the ones humans came from. But now that he thought about it...."Wouldnt 'here' also be 'there'?" he asked "Since we have humans here too, i live with a human, everyone i know has a human. So if you were once human...." he shrugged, not sure where he was going anyways.
The teen watched Phoenix as he explained why he wasnt interested. "My grandpa always says....when you fall off the horse, you have to get back on" he nodded firmly.
"My grandpa was teaching me to hunt" he said looking around, figuring Chaos was watching from somewhere.

Phoenix slowly nodded at the younger Kitsusagi's explanation, seeming genuinely surprised and amazed. "Wow, he was a human and came back as a Kitsusagi...?" He blinked, pinning his ears back. "I... I wonder if that happened to me too? I uh, don't really remember it though..."
He waved a paw and shook his head. "I'm more than sure where I came from is not a part of this. I would know if it was. I don't know too much about animals, but back when I was a human..." He furrowed his brow as he pondered how to explain, shaking his head as he couldn't help but feel that this whole conversation seemed very strange to have.
"Back where I came from, we had animals like lemurs, foxes, rabbits, racoons, skunks and possums. They weren't in the city, though. Things like dragons and unicorns were make-believe. But I could honestly tell you that I'd never heard of a 'kitsusagi' before. Which makes me strongly believe that this is an entirely different place altogether."
He chuckled nervously at the younger Kitsu's comment about relationships and he scratched the side of his head. He had done that so much now, the stiff gelled spikes were coming undone and bits of hair were sticking out at odd angles. He didn't seem to notice this, however. "I uh... I'm inclined to say that my horse ran away altogether."
At the comment about being taught how to hunt, Phoenix gritted his teeth slightly. He knew Kitsusagi were omnivorous and was relieved about that fact (it meant he could still eat his favoured delicious burgers), but the thought of running out into the wilderness and killing something...
"Uh, why don't you just get preprepared food from the big building in the middle of the Mountain plateau? I'd imagine it's much more humane to just eat food like that, rather than run out and hunt something. What would you hunt down to eat, anyway?"
He wasn't sure if he really wanted to know.
