The Month of May 2006

What an eventful month they had had that May of 2006! Everyone, of course, had been on edge because of the "Great Fool's Joke" that had occurred in April, so when some minor security problems etched up in the SHRA's systems, someone had panicked and sent an all-call to the children and their families to come immediately to the Safe Haven.
What occurred then was an appearance of Villains, apparently bent on both facility and any person they came in contact with. The teleportation systems failed and the computer systems went on the blitz. Jim finally flipped an emergency switch, shutting down all computer systems entirely---and anything electrical. Some people had had a good yelling fest at him when it was all over and done with.
Some confused battling in the dark, and eventually Photon showed up with Darebone and Ignite, three Supers who generally stayed out of things and took the secondary position. Ignite had taken charge with Photon to attack the Villains. Darebone along with the security personnel that finally managed to get through took care of getting the kids and guardians to safety, using threats and force where necessary.
The left just as suddenly as they'd come, shouting threats and jeers the whole time.
The three Supers dispersed to help with repairs and medical issues. Jim came and took away all of the children's and guardian's teleporters, announcing them to be defective, Charles asked them to stay in the SHRA building until further notice, splitting them into three groups and three different hallways. The electricity wasn't restored until mid-morning.
They were driven home later that night. Without teleporters.
Some Important Announcements
Two days later, Charles called another meeting. Just so he could hit them all in the gut with some unexpected information:
The Super Hero Relocation Agency was being cut from the government's budget. It was an informative meeting that showed the children and guardians their options. They were expected to choose what they wanted to do by the end of May so that by the beginning of August everyone could be relocated as necessary. They were still not given teleportation devices at this point.
Why? Because of budget issues in combination with having many of their locations fried during this event, teleporters have become an extremely rare commodity.
Due to security issues, the NSA has greatly dispersed it's branches throughout America. Jim was able to track the problem of the hacker and isolate it, but in order to keep security high, he has had to separate, minimize, and lower the efficiency of the programs. Who knew that too much efficiency was a bad thing?
