With a bunch of sealions. I went down to the beach to watch the sunset, and when I tried to play fetch with the sealions they just stoped and stared at me. I guess that they were a group of males all facing off, for feeding position, status, wosealions, or whatever it was, and I interupted them. They were very rude to me, when all I had wanted to do was play some fetch, so I went down to the water and walked as far in as I could with my fishing boots that I was still wearing. The two biggest ones started moving toward me slowly, one of them jumped right out of the water and made a big splash, but I think that was directed more at the other guy than at me. They got up pretty close, and started snorting at me and stuff, I started telling them how I didn't appreciate that sort of attitude, but they just kept on going. They were getting angrier and louder, but then a school of salmons swam by and they got distracted. I said screw it anyway and just took off.

Anyway, I guess what I'm getting to is this: What's the deal with dudes that are just pricks and won't stop hassling you for no reason? It's not just nature for young men to be aggressive and confrontational, I know that for a fact since I'm one myself and I don't go around picking fights like that at all. I wasn't challenging them or anything like that, I wasn't even in the water until they called me out and I had to stand up for myself, and there was no reason for that sort of behaviour. This is why I don't go to bars, damnit. Does anyone else ever have a problem with this sort of thing, or is it just me?

Geeze! Those guys are pricks. Don't listen to them Kninja! It's totally a public beach and all that! They don't own the entire beach! talk2hand

Maybe they were members of a gang and didn't want you eavesdropping on their next plans or something? I say you should call the Sealion police on them and maybe at least get them for loitering.

P.S.- I would totally love to be around wildlife like that. heart

I can't speak for sea lions, since I'm mostly human myself, but I'm pretty sure it's not just the males of any species. Women act the same way sometimes. Once I was at a bar just trying to celebrate a friend's birthday and some girl was trying to pick a fight with me for dancing with her ex... Maybe you inadvertently stumbled into a sea lion bar and they were all drunk on brine and spoiling for a fight...?

Ah, sealions. With their naturally confused states (they don't know if they're related to catfish or not, being sea Lions), it's no surprise that they may be a trifle cranky from time to time. One question, was the object you used to play fetch with them plastic. Maybe they just didn't want you littering on the beach?
Aside from that, I think it's not just males of any species that can be aggressive. It's both genders, and all species, but not all of any one type that can be aggressive. I know I'm a passive sort, I'd only get into fisticuffs if there was a REALLY good reason. Both because I wouldn't want to get in trouble, and I don't think I'd have the self-control to reign myself in after I got riled up. (Reading too much de Sade and stuff like that can make your moments of anger something to be feared.)

TAVERN BRAWL!!!! scream

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0FocyZX_50Q

(Tavern Brawl, Clinton Wars 2007. only one of the many different scenarios though
Dons [<-- Like THE best rapier fighters] and the women, Vs. everyone else. Not allowed to kill the ladies - if you kill a Lady, you yourself die. You have to try to dissarm them, or 'arm' then *cut off their arms*
But the Ladies can kill whomever)

The first line shouted is the best.
'HEY, WE'RE SWAPPING HAIR TIPS!' rofl Said right after they were told to hurry-up.
Said by a man with some really nice, long blonde hair. Now if only he'd use a better conditioner! heart

Waitwait, are the sealions a sneaky metaphor for people? :O Or did you really see a bunch of sealions and they threatened you? o__O Bizaaarreeee haha

Maybe those guys want to put on show for their "macho" friends. Or maybe for girls, but I don't know any girl that would like to see their boyfriends or male friends get into fights (unless I just haven't met any ladies like that xd ).

I haven't seen much fighting at bars when I've gone...heard city bars are worse though. :O

I'm pretty sure that's just Kninja's comical way of saying

"Hey I saw sealions!

And they kinda tried to attack me."

You're all right. It really happened, and really was a bunch of sealions, but it's just like what happens with people too. I've never gotten into a fight at a bar, but that's largely 'cause I'm careful and can spot the people that would come at me if I didn't have my guard up. I don't think it's ever going to be as big a problem for you Isa, but I'm a big guy, and that's prettymuch what drunken toughguys looking for a fight look for.
Terrace can actually be pretty bad, since there are some rough sorts around and moving through here. That night we went to the bar after the hip-hop show at the college? That guy standing outside when you guys decided to leave? The one that had already been kicked out of the bar, who's face was covered in fight scars? He was definitely ready to come at me before I pointed him toward the annoying guy who was arguing with me about music. blaugh

Awww mang, you're right. xd At the time, I was a bit too full of boozahol to figure he was looking for a fight...but I think I'm that naive most of the time, haha.
