One time at band camp (yes I know this is a typical way to start it) our tuba players stepped on a dog. lol... what happened was a stray dog wandered onto the middle school football field (when our band field didn't exsist and the school was still under construction), and we were still marching and the dog got in the way of the tubas.

Our school has Band camp for 2 weeks, half at school...we call that pre-band camp, then we go to a church camp about an hour away and spend a week there using their feilds, and that is Band Camp. Once we were marching then there were these people that were driving by that stopped and watched our whole show, then one other time, we were being set and all our instructors ran off in another part of the feild that we wernt marching on.... they were chasing a possum, then they tried to bring it back but my BD started to freak. LOL it was hillarious.

One of our theme days is "No Pants Day". You can wear shorts, capris, even a skirt, but not pants. This year it happened to be about 50 degrees on this day. And yet two of our snare players show up wearing only speedos.
Welcome to college band, I guess.
