Synthetic Asian Amikka Synthetic Asian Guanatao Avalon is the scabbard that's inside Emiya that gives him the power to replenish his body/life force that his dad put inside of him to save him from the 4th Holy Grail War. I had to do some research on that, though they mentioned it in the anime, i didnt understand what Avalon was also, but that's what it's really called. Remember how Saber had to take it out of him? She needed to take the Scabbard (Avalon) out of him so she can be at full strength
Oh, I remember reading about Avalon now. I just didn't realize it was in the anime. But anyways, do you know what episode that happens in? Because I honestly don't remember that happening yet. I'm only on like 15 I think..
They only mention it right at the end of the series, like ep.23/24.
I think he just gets stabbed too much. I lost count after a while.
Funny though, he gets stabbed, and has massive gashes in his side, but sometimes he just refuses to die.
And *spoiler* Rins the same. I thought she was a goner when she got stabbed, but noooo, it just magically heals overnight. I read about Avalon on Wikipedia. I looked up Fate/Stay Night and went to an article about Saber then I clicked on the link to Avalon from the Saber page. I see. Don't you think you should watch the series before reading about it on Wiki? I just thought there'd be thousands of spoilers stuck in there.

Love Freak Angel Well Shiro is in Love with Saber. So you can't really blame him for wanting to protect Saber. But then again, he ain't a Servant. He's a Master. Let the servant fight and protect, not the other way around. But this is another reason why I love Fate/Stay Night True, but then again, its why everyone agrees Rin is the best master 3nodding

Wow...Shirou isn't really an idiot. He and Saber learned to work together by the end. After all, Saber needed to be held in check too. They complimented each other and worked better fighting together. In the words of a friend of mine:
The role of the Master does not determine how effective they are. It's about their own strengths and how those strengths are applied. For Shiro, he very much applied his strengths and ended up doing a whole lot more help with Saber than anyone seems to be noticing. Even with Rin and Archer, their dynamic was pretty rocky in certain instances so she wasn't as effective of a Master as Shiro was, even if he was a novice magus.
Rin was also a novice Master.

Is there a logical explanation why Shiro isn't as effective as Rin? No one has tried to refute my opinion.

He's just going to be in the way and so it won't make things any better if he dies because it'll just mean that Saber will disappear too after a while.

Oh, I remember reading about Avalon now. I just didn't realize it was in the anime. But anyways, do you know what episode that happens in? Because I honestly don't remember that happening yet. I'm only on like 15 I think..
The first episode that it appears in would be episode 21 when Gilgamesh attacks Shirou and Saber right after their date. He keeps telling himself he wants and needs something of power that can protect Saber and ends up bringing forth Excalibur's sheath from within his body.
The item of choice you are talking about isn't called Avalon. Avalon is really the land/area where all heroic/holy warriors go upon their death. Saber's Noble Phantasm is that she called on the power of this place and uses it in battle. This is done by using Excalibur's sheath as a go between from her and the area. During the 4th Holy Grail War Kitsurugi took ES [excalibur sheath] from Saber and used it to protect his own body so he could fight no stop and gett healed by it's special ability. When Saber vanished after that war Kitsurugi transfered the sheath into the body of a young boy on the verge of death; Shirou. He grew up not knowing that the sheath was sleeping inside him and continued a normal life. Yet when attacked by Lancer, and the Holy Grail choosing him as a Master in the 5th war, the artifact awakened. Now because of this he was able to "accidently" summon Saber since a servant is supposed to be summoned by using an artifact that is connected to them. >>This is also why even though Rin trys to summon Saber she ends up with Archer because she used the jewel necklace in the summon<< The whole healing thing comes from his connection with Saber since she feds the sheath her mana, and using the mana the sheath heals up Shirou's many and countless wounds that he gets in turn from protecting her.

I have to admit, Shirou does annoy me a little despite how much I admire him as the main character. But I feel bad for him because he's a great guy to be around! (well, according to some)

I admit to not watching the anime or playing the game (so I might lapse enough), but I think Shirou isn't a idiot, but rather he's a Deconstruction of the stereotypical Idealistic and Chivalrous Hero. In short, he is in the series so that we could see the faults and flaws of "Save Everyone" Ideal, as well as to see on how that guy will ideologically mature.....
