Disgust? Forget disgust! Alake looked more horrified than ever. She squirmed under his grasp until she finally managed to knock him back and surface. The cub shook the water off best she could while still standing in it and hissed.
"You can't do that! I'm a girl!" Boys weren't allowed to push girls! Alake hadn't yet learned that not all boys followed that rule. If she had a brother among her three sisters, they probably could have taught her otherwise.

When she pushed him back, his paws momentarily scraped against the bottom of the water. He was sure he had cut at least a paw across it thanks to his stupid condition but he was too preoccupied to look.
He hadn't been exposed to such "rules" as no hitting girls. For with his mom, what girl was he going to hit? "And I'm a boy. So now that we've established genders ...and soaked each other thoroughly, you can explain to me why I can't do that?" Of course, if he had been a bit more brilliant (and thus understood the situation) he might have emphasized "can't".

Why? WHY?!
...She didn't know why.
"You just can't!" There were probably a lot of reasons, she had just... Forgotten them! Yeah, that was it. They exsisted, she just couldn't remember, because she didn't think any boy would be rude enough to make her have to remember them! Her head nodded along with her own thoughts. Yes, that was truly brilliant logic. She was a genius. No doubt about it!
She blinked and tilted her head at the small stream of red in the water. "Wow, you're pretty sissy for a boy. You cut yourself already."

Ori raised as eyebrow as well as a lion can. He couldn't? There certainly had to be a reason. There couldn't NOT be one. Otherwise, his mother would have told him. Right? But she really was no fun. Something that could have easily been fun she squashed yet again. So what was a boy supposed to do?
His confident facade wavered as he looked down at his paws, seeing the water as it gently brushed up against his paws flow back into the mainstream tinted lightly with red. He was very much a cub in that he only fought for so long before feeling the need to give up, wanting to run back to his mommy. Now this had happened, his vulnerability exposed, and he had no fight left in him. It made him look -and feel- very.... feminine. He hated it.
He rolled his eyes and huffed, plopping his rear onto dry ground. "Okay you win. Now why don't you go gloat -or nap- in some other place and let me be here by myself." He really didn't care what she made of him any more.

"Win? Win what?" Boys were so weird! She was glad she only had sisters. They were annoying, too, but less annoying. "The only way I would win is if you went away and let me sleep." Which is last sentence basically said he wasn't going to. ..Gloat? "Gloat about what? Making you bleed?"
Jeesh! She wasn't that mean. Rolling her eyes, she got up and marched over to him, nudging his paw with her own into a position where she could see it better. "You have really thin skin if you got cut that easy," she commented. "Make sure you wash it out really well."

Okay, where was her brain?! She had just been yapping at him for bothering her, shoving him in the water, telling him he couldn't touch her because she was a girl and him just giving up fighting back didn't click in her head? As for the matter of sleeping... "why can't you sleep at your home, where your family is? That's where you should go. After all, you've got family there to respect your need for sleep and silence. Therefore there's no one to disturb you," he said nodding his head.
He pulled his paw out of her grasp. He tried to do it nicely but there probably really wasn't a nice way to do it. Orifiel tried to hide it from her, as pointless as it was, and clean it up as best he could. Her going just a bit motherly on him was odd enough. She didn't really like him anyways. Man, girls are weird! he decided. Radi had never mentioned that. Only that they could be evil ...or out of line, whatever that meant.
Not exactly turning to see if she was still there, he added, "I'm sure I'm not the only one who would come here and disturb your desired silence."

Alake scoffed at him. How annoying! It took a pretty nicely sized ego to start assuming you knew everything about someones family. "If that were true, I would sleep there." Jerk. Her family certainly didn't respect her need for sleep.
"You aren't," she agreed bitterly. He wouldn't be the last, either. "You're just the most rude about it." Of that she was sure. "You're not gonna woo any girls that way."
Alake was one of those 'princessy' types who awaited the day prince charming would sweep her off her feet and do everything for her. She definately wasn't going to find someone like that here. Not with cubs like this around!
"You should work on your manners or you'll get old and die alone." That's what she heard, anyway. Realizing this cub was not going to just turn tail and leave, and that arguing with him was taking up valuable sleeping time, Alake decided to go herself.
Without so much as goodbye, she left. He didn't deserve any farewell!
