I like harajuku girls, but when Gwen tries to be one, she just turns out looking a bit sluttish. No offense, Gwen is a good singer. Sorries but this is just my opinion. I don't think it works out when she tries it.

I was talking to someone who also supposedly likes Japan. We were talking about clothes one day, and I randomly said something like "Harajuku stylesâ„"
He said, "Harajuku? As in Gwen Stefani's Harajuku Girls?".
It annoyed me >.>;

I saw this amazing harajuku lovers purse today! It was a 'love' purse and I really wanted to buy it too. It was a great size for a purse, especially for me because I'm a pack rat. It was $30, that's not that expensive.

The only good thing that came out of this is Gwen's bringing Harajuku (not Hair-ra-ju-ku, Gwen) to the US. Maybe people won't be completely brainwashed and maybe find guilds or forums like these where they can learn about what it means to be a Harajuku girl....

I personally think Stefani should just go back to No Doubt. I really dont like her solo stuff and I concur that Gwen tends to go the more slutty side. She has her own style but its no harajuku.
But I do like a few of her outfits in that one video where shes in alice and wonderland.

I loved Tragic Kingdom. She was like a whole different person then. Almost the complete opposite of what she is now. Before she was funky and alternative, now she's pop-tastic and mainstream. No Doubt used to play the Warped Tour. Can you imagine her singing "this s**t is bananas" at a punkrock show?
Also it's funny how they spent so much time establishing that No Doubt was the focus, not just Gwen. And then she goes solo. rolleyes

Sesshomarus_Demon_Slayer They are cute but honestly I have to question her treatment of them. She obviously is the one who dresses them and there was one interview that made me fume a bit. It was where they were interviewing her. Then the interviewer wanted to interview one of them and Gwen said they couldn't.
Okay that would be fine and all because they may not know English very good but then she commented they were part of her imagination or something? What?
Gwen I love her music, her style but I don't like her too much. I know those girls are getting paid good, are good friends of hers but honestly she treats them like her belongings sometimes. neutral well Gwens a superstar so of course shes bound be a diva about some things..

p!nkerton Their style is very cute, indeed, but I guess not quite Harajuku in my mind. Harajuku is when you buy a $500 dollar designer jacket, rip it up and add some of your favorite fabric, and sew it into a dress. To me, Harajuku isn't so much a style as it is sort of a state of mind where you yourself are just as in-control as the designer.
Then again, knowing Gwen, maybe they are. 3nodding Hey thats a cool way to put it.... unfortunately the poor people like me who cant afford the $500 dollar jacket stick with the knock offs and shred and restyle.lol biggrin
