Exactly. A human system. That's what I was talking about. What about the being that we put under that title that arn't really fairies? There is a group of beins that do call themselves that, but it's only a small part of the whole group most seem to lump together under the same title. Most of them don't care, but again, pixie hate that. And as for glamour magic, I can see through it. Thank you for getting pictures. I appreciate it.

Ahh yes I see what you mean now. What I mean was that people use the term 'Fairy' so describe any sort of natural spirit. Those that have studied them know that not all beings called Fairies are fairies but it's easier to describe something 'as a type of fairy' to someone that doesn't know. Really? That's a very unusually ability.
Just out of curiosity what does your guardian look like?

That's a very unusually ability. Just out of curiosity what does your guardian look like? I know, I just felt the need to point out that it's a human system. I've been confronted by many different illusionists so I kinda was forced to learn to identify all kinds of illusions and learn how to see through them. I actually have more than one guardian. Should I describe all thirteen of them? Although I don't want to go to off topic so maybe you should PM me about that.

Well I have seen them and believe me, I don't want to see them again for a long time. I used to have pixies in my garden and then I never saw the faeries. Now....the pixies are gone and the faeries scare me. They're manipulative and they may have good manners, but that's part of the manipulation! Ok...enough poinless ranting.
(Haha I have iron in my bedroom! Iron in my bedroom! Crap...where's the iron? OO Uh oh.) ~Random quote.

From what i've heard faeries dont really even like to be called faeries, as they don't like the crude reputations they got from the dark times that was given to the name under that title and prefer to be called anything other then what they are _the fae_. Prefering to be even just refered to as the Wee-folk or other names. .

Wow, are they all really that mean? Mark Twain mentioned fairies in the biography he did on Joan of Arc. Apparently there used to be fairies up in Rheims(sp?), and Joan believed in them as well. They seemed nice to them.
btw, whats a guardian?

If you don't treat them with respect they can be very mean. A Guardian is being or spirit that tries to protect you or sheild you from things that might harm you. They will also try and pass on advice to you in time of need. Everyone has one but sometimes they can't see them. I can't see my own but someone I knows has running debates with their.

I believe in fairies. Although i haven't ever seen one People in Europe especially have been seeing them as long as anybody can remember and as far back as their history goes. So why not believe. I'm not sure i believe all the lore surrounding them though.

I've seen them several times. The pixies are nicer than the faeries... I've seen faeries in all sorts of forms. Some of them are downright frightening as well as spiteful. Others are beautiful and sweet with a nasty temper. I've made a sort of tenuous friendship with a few of the more mischeivous ones. There are two that come to play with me occassionally. There is another that has saved me a few times.
Alas, I used to have pixies by my playhouse growing up til something chased them away. They used to fly about whenever my nephew and I were outside. We even were able to hold one in our hands. It was amazing.

Why yes I do. To be honest, I'm quite familiar with the fey. I have had many personal experiences with them, but can't exactly share them. But I could possibly answer some questions. (:

Well, i dont know if their fake i dont know if they are real. But, i have always been interested in attempting to communicate with them. Especially when i was younger. Often times i'd leave tea and cake out for em. Leave little skims of fabric for them. I dont remember what happened to those exactly, but i know what happened 2 summers ago. I was sitting on the porch out back. Noone was home. We live with our porch facing a forest. Needless to say i picked up my guitar and started playing. JUst little hyms that i knew nothing special, and well. I dont know if this is anythign related to the wee folk, but i being a retard little child invited them to come play with me. Not even 5 minutes later, a baby fox poped it's head out from behind a tree. WAlked up to the fence, turned it's head and looked at me. The ground around our area is like a red clay. I put the guitar down. I always liked foxes. It wasnt a red, more of a brown orange and black color. he stood there looking at me from behind the fence, prolly 40 feet or so. I played for a bit. And i stopped and grabbed some crumbs from the plate next to me. I set my guitar down. climbed off the porch. It watched me . when i got within 10 feet of it, it darted off into the woods. I jumped the fence as it darted off over some fallen trees and practically vanished. I looked down at the ground and saw absolutley no foot prints and it had just rained. It rains daily in the summer where i live XD

Yes, I believe but I do not have any experience with fairies or nature spirits. When I was a young girl we lived on my grandfather's land for a few years and I would sometimes see lighters areas flickering between the trees at night when I was at the edge of the forest. I never actually went into the forest at night though. I wonder why the idea never occurred to me to try it.

Also i notice that some people have called them cruel. and some one said they despise us. I don't think that is really true.
I think some of them do truly hate us and some truly like us, but most don't give a rat's behind about us unless we actively try to interact with them. But that's just my opinion. I could be wrong.

First of all, not all faeries are beautiful, and not all are shriveled old hags either. There are so many different sorts that I would be hard pressed to list them all, even if I did know all of their names. There are whole mythologies based around them, namely in Ireland, Briton and Scotland, as well as in many other European countries. They are often referred to as the Fair Folk, and the Sidhe, and they come in all shapes and sizes. You've got the faeries from the Courts, mostly Seelie, the grouping faeries, who feast, dance and hold long, trailing parades. You've got the Unseelie, who are the more harmful, solitary beings of the Otherworld (those 'ugly' fae are normally found in this grouping). There are Brownies, and Bogies, Goblins, and Hobgoblins. There's the Kelpie and the other faery horses. There are the Bean Sidhe (also known as the banshee), the spirits of death who sing during deaths in old families, and the Leanan Sidhe, who inspire their lovers while draining their life forces.
Basically, the Faeries are just as varied as creatures in any other religious mythologies. The one thing that they are all known for, though, is their rapaciousness, their fickleness, and their pure danger. It must be remembered that they live by completely different rules than we do. You slight them, and they will have revenge of some sort. Help them, and they will reward you. They often enjoy striking deals, though it would not be wise to make one then break it.
If anyones very interested, there are several very good books for this subject: Katharine Briggs' An Encyclopedia of Fairies Pierre Dubois' The Great Encyclopedia of Faeries Carolyn White's A History of Irish Fairies Brian Froud's works Any books on Celtic/Irish/Scottish folklore and mythology
