Some experts say that many people have paranormal activity as children but as they get older they tend to write them off as imagination. Most of the times the paranormal experience is of a relative that recently died or died around the time of pregnacy or birth.
Does this theory apply to any of you? feel free to share. 3nodding

The theory that child see more paranormal activity because of the fact that as children they do not know they what they are seeing is paranormal. For a child seeing a spirit could be something they do every day. It is only when they are old enough to understand what others are telling them that they begin to write off what they are seeing and their imagination.

It is also not alway relative that visit children in spirit form. Some spirits are drawn to children just because they are children and will seek them out. But yeah it normal is recently passed on relatives as they want to see the child and in some cases give it they blessing.

I don't believe I ever really saw anything as a kid other than things off in my peripheral vision, but I did feel things. I also had nightmares extraordinarily often (especially in one house *shudders*). It wasn't so bad when I was rather young, but about the time I hit 10, it felt like things exploded around me, in a way. It greatly lessened for a while, but recently, it feels like it's getting a bit out of control again. It's not the nightmares, thankfully, but I'm constantly seeing things out in my peripheral vision and it makes me really uneasy for some reason. Actually, before the aforementioned house, I don't think I had any negative feelings, though I did have some crazy nightmares that a child that young shouldn't be capable of having. If anyone is interested, I posted a bit of a long topic on another section of the forum that tells about the house.

I used to see spirits and ghosts when i was younger but i don't anymore i think probably because i dont want to however i am still sensitive and can feel spirits.

Children often play with ghosts and spirits and the theory is they can see and interact with them because they are recently back from heaven(you have to believe in heaven and reincarnation).

When i was around 7-10 (sorry im terrible with time including dates, years and all that so i have to guesstimate) I seen my grandmother she hadn't recently died she had actually been dead since my dad was 9. I didnt have a clue who she was until the next morning when i saw a picture of her on my great-grandmothers wall(we were staying at her house). I asked who she was and i was told she was my dad's mother.

For as long as I can remember, I've experienced paranormal phenomenon. I suppose most adults write it off as imagination, unless it's happening to them still. My father, never really noticed the supernatural/paranormal events that happened in both my first home and my second home. He simply was blind to them. My mother, on the other hand, noticed fully well what was going on. She has even told me events that happened to her in the homes we lived in.

I don't think I'll ever stop believing in ghosts. I've always have been haunted by them. But not like how you see on television. That's usually fake. D:<

I dont think I saw spirits as a child so much as I have seen them in my teenage years.
I remember hearing disembodied voices from time to time in my moms house when i was a kid.

Oh God, are you kidding me?
When I turned seven I had an imaginary friend. Also, as long as I can remember I've been a clairvoyant and medium. So I sensed spirits all the time when I was little. And to this day I still do.

When I was about two, I started seeing a "church guy." I would ask my mom what he was doing by the fridge, but she would always tell me that see couldn't see him. I don't remember any of this, but my mom told me about it.

My mom also runs a daycare and has two 9 month old babies. I'll talk to some of the spirits in my room sometimes, and when I come upstairs they start crying for no reason sometimes.

When I was little, I used to see pairs of red eyes in the forests around my school... quite frankly, my mother was a bit worried, so she talked to one of her spiritual friends about it: he said it was probably Saint So-and-so (I don't remember his/her name), and that she shouldn't be worried. That Saint So-and-so was known for watching over and protecting children, and that it was a 'good' thing.

Also, I used to sleep walk when I was younger, and my mother used to always know and get up with me (you know how mother's are good like that). Supposedly there were two nights in a row when I got up at the exact same time, and when my mother walked me through the hallway, I stopped and pointed to the exact same place, a corner, both nights, and said something along the lines of 'he's there, Mommy.' Both nights, successively, the same place, the same time. Bit weird, no?

Children in general, tend to be a lot more sensitive to the spiritual realm. That is why there are so many more occurances reported by children, that are simply written off as being a child's imagination.

Unfortunately, as children grow, the overwhelming majority of them are 'taught' to turn off their abilities to see and hear based on drilling into them what is normal and logical, and what is make believe. Even more unfortunate, is that in some cases, the familie's influence to turn off such abilities can be a lot more aggressive.

I, for instance, could be much more attuned to the other realms than I am, had it not been for such a large gap in development during my adolescent years. As a child, I OFTEN saw what WOULD happen - and my predictions were always so. I had very religious parents, namely my father, who became hateful towards my abilities - telling me that such things were not natural and I was a devil's child if I was foreseeing things.

The ability to be attuned to the world around you in a greater sense is an ability that can be willed off - all related abilities are greatly influenced by the mind, in fact. So when children are taught to close their eyes and ears to such things, many of them never turn around and try to reconnect, thus losing those abilities forever.

So, in a sense, it is not necessarily that children are MORE sensitive THAN adults, it is that they start out that way, and then overtime, turn their abilities off. Thus leaving the appearace that children are more prone to paranormal activity.

I not only saw spirits, but had past life experiences, and saw auras as well when between the ages of two and six. I just always accepted it as something everybody experienced.
