Butterfly Nebula Princess Mandy Butterfly Nebula Mage Negi Butterfly Nebula You know what, I think I've more or less given up on trying to argue this... xD Screw it, what happens will happen and nothing any of us say, think, or do can change that. Let's just all enjoy the third season and what it has to offer. Yeah, that's right. Let's just all sit back, enjoy the show, and watch Sozin's comet land on Sokka and Toph falling in love with Aang. (Couldn't help myself blaugh ) Hah, whatever makes you excited for season 3, all the more power to you. Though, really, do you think Nick would let them kill of the 'comic relief' character? (GAWD it pisses me off when Sokka is labeled as to 'comic relief'.) I know, right?! scream
I'm sorry, but that's what he is. He's there to keep the little 10 year old boys from getting bored with the drama and the angst.
But, he is the idea guy as well. >.<

Yes.... but the dual-role makes him not entirely comic relief. In fact, he's even part ladies' man. xd

Yes.... but the dual-role makes him not entirely comic relief. In fact, he's even part ladies' man. xd Maybe I'm just crazy, but I think Sokka is one of the most identifiable characters in the show. He's not just one of my favourites because he's funny and smart, I sincerely feel for him and understand him. I'm one of those people who psychoanalyzes characters that are seemingly simple, and once I have them figured out, I begin to love them. The ones that are prepackaged as complex bore me. *COUGHZUKOCOUGH* I mean, everyone's complex, but for me, it's the characters who make you think otherwise that are fascinating. 'Cause then, you get to think and theorize and slowly unravel them and their motives. ...Yeah, I'm crazy. But, gah, it just annoys me when people label characters that I've come to know and love as certain roles or whatever. It's like... okay, in a show like Avatar, there's so many layers that when someone just strips it down to one, it irks me.

I totally see what you mean. XD
I've never really gone into detailed analysis of any of the characters except in ship arguments. >.<
It's good practice for my invisible law degree to argue so much. D:
